Should the Boys State Tourny Rotate every year at- UK, EKU, WKU, and NKU?
03-11-2007, 04:39 AM
I like the idea of the same place every year... It turns it into a tradition for families like mine

I get what your saying but School out in Western and Eastern KY have to drive further.

I like it being at UK every year.

UK - every year!
There is just something about going to RUPP!

I could maybe live with it going back to Freedom Hal from time to time but no where else..Rupp just seems to be the perfect setting for the State Tourney and as a young boy I thought Freedom Hall was awesome. Louisville just didn't seem to embrace the tourney the way Lexington has..Leave it alone I suppose. It ain't broke so don't fix it..

Rupp Arena is a basketball foundation not just for high school basketball but for college basketball. Duh keep it there

Freedom Hall? Why would Kentucky move their high
school state championship out of state?
school state championship out of state?

Freedom Hall is in Louisville.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

Keep it in Rupp! Too much tradition.

Definately. Most kids in Kentucky grow up loving UK basketball, and the chance to play on the same floor is a great oppurtunity. Its tradition - dont change it.
I know off topic, but the girls location should rotate or change or something. Bowling Green is a long way to travel for EKY teams, fans, and parents.

it has to stay at RUPP.. the best felling in the world, is when you walk out of the tunnel onto that floor and the fans cheering ya teams name.. it just wouldnt feel right anywhere else.

"Rupp, Arena..Rupp..Rupp Arena!"
Rupp, most definitely.
i live in eastern kentucky, it is quite a drive each year, but heck..it's RUPP!

Rupp WAS a good place to play. I dont want any kids I know playing on the same Court as UK now lol

Its like the Girls Tourny. Eastern KY people have to drive 4 hours when people out there drive 5 mins EVERY YEAR
03-11-2007, 09:43 PM
It would mean so much more to the players to get to play in Rupp than any other gym in the state. Even if you have a long drive it will still mean more to play at Rupp.
03-11-2007, 09:50 PM
definitely at UK, a high school players goal for the year is to say they are going to Rupp

Is there a gym in Frankfort that could hold the crowd the state tourney brings with it?

Boys' state is not this week, but the next. Valley will play on Thursday, March 22nd.
LEAVE IT AT RUPP! Every KY kid's dream. Yeah, BG is a long drive for the girls' tourney...loved it better when it was at EKU but EKU hosts the All-A so I guess they're trying to balance everything. I VOTE THAT THE GIRLS GET TO PLAY IN RUPP ALSO! Yeah, they won't fill it up like to boys but I was there for the UK/UT women's game last year and they can use those curtains to cover the upper arena. What gal wouldn't want to play on that floor as well? Plus, it's so convenient having the Hyatt and Radisson right there.
