Congrats to Valley. I thought Paintsville might be able to pull the upset with the way they were playing as of late but Shelby Valley proved me wrong. Great game by Esther Fleming. Should be a great second round game with Pike Central.

Not official, but I think Esther had 28 and Sally had 17.

For Paintsville, Carroll had 26, and #22 (For some reason her name has slipped my mind) had 15 I believe.

Congrats Valley!!! Nice win!
I sure wish Paintsville had been able to at least get to shoot a bonus FT tonight but Valley was only called for 5 fouls in the first half and 6 fouls in the second half.
Lorin Welch played about 4 minutes the whole game, couldn't turn around without a foul!
#15
Think the larger floor played a role lookin' back at different parts of the game. Several times as these two teams went back and forth there were many girls on both ends of the floor.

Carroll had to give a lot of energy tonight for Paintsville and just tired out during the latter moments yet, Paintsville just not converting on critical possessions.

thanks for congtatuating us it takes a big man to do that. but why say something about the foul shots if paintsville knew how to play defense without fouling like valley does then valley we wouldnt have shot so many. way to go girls now take it to PCC:1:

Look, I'm a Paintsville fan and I predicted Valley to win cause I knew Paintsville couldn't. But nowhere did I see in any predictions a Paintsville fan say that Valley wasn't capable of beating us, heck they already had once this year and have only gotten better since then.

IMO, i didn't think that Paintsville drove to the basket enough and draw contact to warrant any foul shots. Futhermore, you are correct about Welch. It seemed like everytime she stepped on the floor, they called a foul. Finally, I feel Baldwin should have a called a timeout a little quicker than he did. Paintsville was up by 9 and Valley went on a tear and Baldwin didn't call a time out until P-ville was down by 4. I can't figure why he was trying to save those 4 timeouts. Thats why they give them to you, so you can use them.
Anyways, Congrats to both teams, I thought both played with tremendous heart.

I think this is a pretty good assessment of what happened to Paintsville.

Well, you know, Napier did a pretty daggone good job, especially in the fourth quarter. So, I'll agree with you there too. I guess I don't understand enough about b-ball - I know the girls need a breather every now and then, but I thought he slowed them down too much there a couple of times. Valley's strength is largely in their speed. Seems like they commit more turnovers when they slow things down. Notice that, or is it just me?

I though he should have called a time out also.
