Wow! An Amazing game, Magoffin kept the fire throughout the game. Awesome show of teamwork, and heart, especially by the Seniors. They never quit once throughout the game, and the bench and the younger guys stepped up as well. I guess that its just revenge on paintsville for last seasons semi-finals. I couldn't see a better way to end this game. Great game to the Seniors Nathan Arnett, Clay Fletcher, Eric Arnett, and Devin Rice. You have truly made us proud. Congrats to Magoffin taking the District Championship for both Boys and Girls Basketball!

Paintsville got just what they deserved tonight. Magoffin was the better team and they should be congratulated for their win. Ironic that Paintsville has been in the District championship 3 years in a row and lose 2 of them on last second shots. Paintsville will have a tough road to the finals, better hope they play the 58th because if they come out like they did tonight it will be one and done for them in the region for 3 consecutive years. Hats off to Magoffin Co. you all earned it, celebrate tonight, find out who you drew in the Region tomorrow and start to prepare.

I have to say, I didnt see this coming, I thought Paintsville would take this one easy, but things happen. Congrats to the Hornets on this win, I wish I could have been there to see it.

I'm so happy that Magoffin County won.It was a heartbreaking loss the other night for all the JC fans after coming out so good.I wish the best of luck for both teams in the region tourney.

Great Job by my Hornets! I knew they could do it! Congrats to Coach West he turned his team into believers and they have accomplised something no one ever excpected. Good luck to you in the regions.

To be honest with ya. Neither team deserved to win tonight. I thought they both played sloppy. Hats off to #31 Arnette! Great game. As for the rough road at Region... I hope we draw SV right off the bat! So that way it is either put up or shut up! Good luck at Region to both teams. Would be nice to see a rematch in the Regional Finals!

This is great. Magoffin Boys and Girls stand on top of the 57th by beating both Paintsville teams on their home court. Congrats boys and good luck in regionals.

The Tigers could not get it going tonight and They gave it away on their own home court.I still say the Tigers are the better team and I believe it will show come next week.I will also say that I thought Arnett traveled before the shot,but oh well that is basketball. Congrats Hornets!!!

Congrats to Magoffin County!! The Hornets deserve what they got - two District Championships, boys and girls!!! The boys hung in there and never gave up.
As for the game itself, the effort was there by both teams, but I have never seen two teams try so hard to give the game away! Paintsville missed enough easy baskets and free throws to have put it away before OT and Magoffin turned the ball over and made silly mistakes enough times to have put Paintsville away in regulation as well. It was a hard fought game by both teams (which made it a good game to watch) but it was very sloppy. Both teams had chance after chance to connect on the knockout blow and neither could do it. If either team takes that kind of game to the Expo Center they will be coming back home real quick. Get it together guys and represent the 57th well.
As for Paintsville, they deserved the loss. They played hard but played very poorly! They were lucky the game even went into OT in the first place and even still they had their chance to win. NO ONE stepped up to get it done. I hate to see them lose the District Championship, but I am glad they are going in as a runner-up. They need to be put up against a District winner first game and prove they can win it. And I hope they draw SV first so we can settle that one right away! If the Tigers expect a trip to Rupp, they will need to beat SV anyway, so it might as well be first. Good luck!!
