Pike Central 55 Shelby Valley 44
#1
PC wins a huge game they are on a roll
#2
Way to go girls. Carry it thru in the tourney
#3
Great game!!! It was an all around good game for the girls from PC. The scoring was pretty even between them and very unselfish play. WTG girls and let's keep it going for tourney time. Valley has got some talent in #10. I think her last name is Cantrell and she is one heck of a shooter. Also good play from Fleming.
#4
BTW, it was an emotional game for Ratliff with this being her last regular season game and she had her #5 jersey retired. No one will ever wear the #5 again at PC. She deserves it and she is one heck of a player. Congrats Haley on a terrific career at PC. Take it to the next level and show them how it's done.
#5

What an intense game to watch!!!!

SV's Kayla Cantrell (#10 mentioned earlier in this thread) scored 15 pts, Esther added 12 to the score, and Sally Roberts tossed in 10.

The honored senior tonight, Miss Haley Ratliff, contributed 16 pts to the Lady Hawks. Kayla Lowe scored 15 and Holly Harris scored 10.

The first half of the game was low scoring for both teams and then second half the Hawks just never gave up and ended Haley's senior night with a much deserved win!!!!
#13
way to go girls, you all done great, Haley, we love you so much, we will miss. you are such a great player as well as a great person, kayla lowe you done awesome tonight, as did holly and the rest of the hawks, it was a good game to watch, as for valley Kayla Cantrell is one good player shedid really well tonight , what grade is she in? she will be the star for valley next year thats a fact. and Esther had a good game its so sad in a way valley lose's Esther who I know they love just as much as all of us from central loves haley.... well hawks keep it up take us to state....
#14
The game was close till PC pulled away going into the fourth. The Hawks played like they wanted it more coming out of the half, and after a few bad calls on both sides, Valley lost their composure.. but Central didnt.

I tihnk this game will benefit both teams.. Valley because they arent on top of the world anymore.. and it added to Central's momentum.
#15
How were the fans tonight? I know Valley didn't even have a cheering section at their boys home game tonight.
#16
The Blue Crew was there, But Central also had The PC-o-Crew there too!!!!
#17
It was truly exciting to watch. Congrats PC. Get ready for tourney time SV. Love my Lady Kats

Yea, The fans seemed pretty evenly matched in numbers.. The Blue Crew shows their devotion in traveling in numbers that other teams struggle to get at home.
#19
Wish I could have been there. Ratliff, what a career..!!!! she has been the leader of this region for many years..her will to win !! reminds me of several that have made our girls region continue to get better each year....

Congrats PC and to Ratliff on a great career. This years 15th region senior class is loaded with talent. As for Sv they played a great first half and the second half the ball just did roll their way. It happens in big games like that. I think SV may have forgotten what it feels like to lose a big game so this could really help them in getting prepared for the tourny.
#22
Kayla is only a sophmore! This two teams will battle for years to come. PC has got it all with size, speed, shooters, and great defense.
#23
Yep this was one great game the reffs just wasnt going to let pc lose on haleys senior night lets just hope they meet again in the tournament and hope we get some good reffs that know what a walk is. Cantrel could barely even get down the floor they fouled so bad but congrats to haley and the rest of the pc team.

o and about the fans i believe valleys blue crew was alot louder and wilder then the home team and had alot more ppl lol

Valley made 4 FGs (for 9 points) in the 2nd half and made 15 FTs while shooting TWICE as many FTs as Central for the game. Those are great stats to make a solid argument against the refs for beating you. Central only got in the bonus when Valley fouled at the end of the game to stop the clock.

hmmmm sounds like trot just totaly blew the winner's argument of the refs...just admit you got beat...

The refs called an excellent game the first half. But, if you were there, you have to admit they let both teams beat each other to death. And, they only called one carry, I think, and it was on SV. PC carried and walked all night. The stats don't lie. Valley simply did not put the points up - that's true. BUT, if the calls had been made, it could have been slightly different - don't you think? Seriously, they pretty much let PC lay on top of Kayla Cantrell at one point and didn't call the foul. PC player laid on the floor holding the ball for what seemed like an eternity and they didn't call a walk.

But PC deserves Congratulations. They are a great team and played good ball last night. Don't take that away from them or Hayley. However, If you watched the game, you know the refs gave PC quite a few breaks. It happens on the home floor. They gave SV a couple of calls to make up for a couple of really bad ones. That happens too. But don't say we're just blaming the refs! I was amazed and happy to see this thread had not gone in that direction. Let's keep it that way.

Congrats PC!

Reffs wasn't the reason for the loss,PC just out hustled Valley in the 2nd half.Overall not a bad loss for Valley, nothing like a good ole reality check just before tournament time. These 2 teams have played twice this season and split the wins,Honestly PC hasn't impressed me as i thought they would, not near as much as they did last year anyway.Valley's half court defense in second half last night was were they slipped to many open shots underneth,i have a feeling napier will fix that next week in practice.I will say this and shoot me if you want but if they do meet again in regional tournament,Valley will beat them.blast away :moon:

Laying on the floor with the ball does not mean a player walks.

congrats to pike central. going to be a rough team to play in regional.
