(1) Florida @ (18) Kentucky 2/10
#31
If Bradley and Crawford both decide to play on the same night, the Cats MIGHT come home with a win.

Trust me, i'm as anti-Florida as they come, but it's going to be difficult to pull this one out.

FBALL Wrote:I doubt it. The wildest and loudest I have seen was early in the Pitino era. Pitino's first year when a bunch of nobodys beat Shaq's LSU squad was the loudest and wildest I have ever seen Rupp. Maybe in a tie or at least second was the following season when the Unforgettables routed Kansas a year after Kansas beat them by fifty. Those two games are by far the craziest and loudest ever at Rupp.

I'm sure this crowd will be big a pumped up. But I don't think you can top the emotion in those two games. I have seen them play Arkansas when Arkansas was #1 in the mid 90s. I was 5 rows behind the bench for senior day when the Unforgettables beat Tenn. Nothing I have seen at Rupp since can compare to those LSU and Kansas games.

I guess we'll see Saturday. I think the wildest game so far at Rupp ever was the Florida game in 2003 and a lot of people would agree. Record attendance that game, plus the #1 team in the country. Plus a blowout win.

I know it was wild in the games you mentioned, but with Florida being #1, College Gameday being there, and this game being prime time on a Saturday Night. Not to mention the white out that will take place. This one could be something special.

The games you mentioned were as follows on attendance.
LSU 1990 - 23rd all time attendance
Kansas - Not in top 40 attendance at Rupp history

Kentucky played Arkansas 3 times at Rupp in the mid 90's. (1992, 1994, 1996) They rank 5,11,and 14 in all time attendance at Rupp, and Kentucky's only win in those 3 games was in 1996, and Arkansas wasn't ranked. I doubt the two losses were that wild.

The Tennessee game you mentioned was 6th all time, but even the Tennessee game this season was 17th all time.

The ticket prices over on ebay tells how bad people want in for this game.

If Kentucky isn't in the game it may not be close to the best, but Florida is the defending national champ and #1 so if Kentucky plays them well or wins no doubt it will be the best ever.

i dont believe florida is the best team by far ucla or wisconsin could beat them on any given night. if the cats show up ready to play they can shut them down especially noah if randolph plays like he did when he shut Tyler Hansborough down then we can do this its not impossible, but i guarantee the house will be a rockin in rupp BABY!!!!
#34
I'd say if UK plays like they did this weekend whenever they got down 14 and turned it on then they might have a chance. Florida is too tough right now, but hopefully UK will pull it out.

All Florida in this game. Tubby struggles with the big games. The trend continues.

I was at that game, and I have to agree with you.
At the time, Matt Walshs girlfriend was a porn star, and when he ran out, the "eruption zone" threw pictures of his girlfriend at him.

That's also where the chant "Walsh is gay" started at.

The referee's were AWFUL in that game. Kept Florida in it.

Man I hate Billy Donovan...

I would have to agree with that one, and from when I last checked, this is a pretty big game for the CATS.

I'm sorry, Wisconsin couldn't beat Florida. UCLA would have the best chance outside of the SEC.

I was at the LSU game and it was crazy!! Shaq was there but Chris Jackson was the show for LSU. I think he put up 40+.

I was also on the floor(had a press pass for a couple of years)at the Arkansas game you are refering to. It was another great atmosphere, we lost though. Was rolling until Rod Rhodes got a T for excessive celebration(horrible call).

Oh the good ol days!!

Kentucky will have to play its best game of the year and if they do they have a 50/50 chance of winning.
#42
Kentucky will have their work cut out for them, but I dont see florida being number 1, they should be 2 or 3.but i hope Ky comes in there and pulls out the upset!!
#43
UK by 4+
#44
Florida by 10
#45
Cats by 5 if Morris defends, and we shoot above 45%. Gators by 18 if Morris does not defend, we have a bad shooting night, and we turn it over.

umm, they beat FLA in 2003 when they were #1.. how was that not a big game

Umm.. it wasn't that long ago when UK went perfect throught the SEC.. you know those were big games
#47
Tubby would be better off keeping the team in the lockerroom. Florida is gonna kick some Wildcat butt bigtime. Major embarrassment on national TV for UK.

FLORIDA 86
KENTUCKY 65
#48
Florida by 25 in this one. I watched the news tonight and I seen a interview with Morris. He said he dont know much about UK and UL rival or how big it is but he thought UK and UF was alot bigger, I just couldnt believe this. Also they mentioned on there that their would be no Kentucky boys from KY playing in this game.
#49
i think the gators of florida will walk all over uk-= again ... hey they are number #1 in the country man.
#50
final score
uk -59
florida -74
i'm soo wrong.
#51
Kentucky is undefeated in Rupp Arena when #1's come into town.

Indiana in the 60s or 70s
Florida in '03
#52

#53
So wish I was there today. The crowd was INSANE when they showed them on ESPN! Hope they don't have to much to drink before gametime, lol!
#54
I really think Kentucky will come out on top, but if not then I hope Noah gets knocked around quite a few times and that might make it a little bit better. If he does that damn drum beat thing then I would love to see someone knock his teeth out.
#55
The thing with punching Noah in the mouth is, it would hit his tonsils because of his gap between his teethSmile
#56
Jay Bilas was adament about how UK cannot match up with Florida this adds to the growing reasons for me to dislike him
#57
id say uk will pull the upset i say uk by 3

Jay Bilas is awesome. Ususally he is spot on, and today was no different. We can match up farely well with 4 starters, but Noah will likely kill us with Thomas or Perry or Stevenson on him. Bilas is my favorite ESPN guy.

I so wish Noah would cut his hair. Rupp's a rocking tonight. UK by 10 or more. Defending champs or not I still think there overrated. Noah will not be a factor.
