Hazard / JBS Game Cancelled

I just noticed on the scoreboard that the last game of the regular season between Hazard and JBS has been cancelled. I wonder why? My guess is JBS initiated this one. I think they are a little scared of the Dawgs.

I think you're right. That would put them over 30 games, though I thought the tournaments didn't count as all games.

I thought that was Senior night??? Why did they cancel that one? The Buckhorn game was cancelled and it's still on there. I think they should have cancelled an away game instead of the home game with JBS.

nothing would be worse than an a** whoopin on senior night. hazard got lucky they cancelled.

Teams can only count two tournaments as a single game...After the two tourney limit, all tourney games count as one each...Hazard has already played five tourneys:
KY All A
14th Reg ALL A
WYMT Classic
Hazard Invitational
Defenders of the Station

Here is the rule from the KHSAA Handbook:

4) No member school shall play more than twenty-three(23) basketball games during the regular season.
A maximum of two (2) tournaments may be included in any manner other than counting each game played against the limit of twenty-three (23) games.
Any two tournaments played during the regular season may be counted as one game per tournament against the limitof twenty-three (23) provided that neither tournament necessitates the team playing more than four (4)games. Any game played over the limit of four in any one
tournament shall be counted against the limit of twenty three (23) games.

Did they have a choice of who they wanted to cancel, or did they just cancel who they wanted to? Is there a rule on that? I know teams can only play a certain number of games, but can they just pick who they don't want to play?

20 laps around a court equals one mile. Thats 440 laps for 22 miles. Maybe you need to run a couple more so you can beat Hazard or PCC.
