Looks alright, but I'd give Allen Central the nod over Phelps and Pikeville.

I agree

Looks about right to me. Prestonsburg may be a bit high and I'd probably move up Lawrence County a few.

Looks good, I'd just flop Paintsville and Valley.

They aren't ranked in their class, in West Virginia, and everyone knows that West Virginia isn't a basketball state. Sure they have their top tier teams, but after the top few they really drop off.

Turns out that Spring Valley is 5-8...

Could not agree any more.

You could leave SV there all season. All that matters is getting out of your District and winning the Region. You don't get crap for being ranked.

umm.. I would say WV basketball as a whole is stronger than KY

Take out the people that shouldn't be there like OJ Mayo, and they wouldn't be as strong. If he'd have stayed at NCH like he should have for his senior season, KY would have a great edge over them.

I don't think that any one player makes a state better than the other. You have to look at it by the larger picture, not just one team or player.

What do you mean take out people who shouldn't be there like O.J. Mayo. The kid was born and raised there so I don't see where you are comin from with that statement. He TRANSFERRED to Rose Hill then to North College Hill FROM Huntington .

And what do you guys base that on? Have you seen all the teams from WV play? Have you seen some of the bigger schools from WV play? Huntington High isn't the only good ball team in WV you know, there are plenty more.

Based on what?
I truly am curious how you come to that conclusion.

What do you mean take out OJ. He grew up in Huntington and played youth basetball with everyone on the Huntington team. Bill Walker who is now starting at Kansas State, grew up with all of these kids too. Scott County will play them a good game in Georgetown.

There is probably 3-4 teams in WV that will compete with the top 20 in KY.

Actually Walker is sitting out with a knee injury...

I'd say there are more than 3-4 that could compete in the Top 20 in Kentucky.

Kentucky basketball overall is stronger than WV basketball, Hunington High, just helps out WV.

I'm not saying it isn't. I was just wantin to know how Larry and NEXT knew that, have they watched other teams from WV play besides Huntington and the ones that were at the Williamson tourney. There are alot of good teams in WV: Parkersburg, Capitol etc.

Wow, Didn't realize Pikeville had played that many fewer games than the other teams. Maybe when they get some more games under their belts, and get all players healthy, you just might see a better team?

Back on this subject...
Basketball is just as strong in WV as KY..
If you look from the bottom up.. Ky has the weaker teams..
Theres not a team in WV worse than Piarist & David..
They have plenty of strong teams.. To say what some of you have said is just pure "uneducated"..
You guys said that theres only 3 or 4 teams who could compete in KY..
What about:
Capital
Martinsburg
Parkersburg
Jefferson
South Charleston
Charleston Catholic
Wheeling Central Catholic
University
Theres alot of talent in WV too.. It just sounds like you guys on here are home-state bias..
Kentucky isn't really so strong this year.. Scott Co. is the best KY has to offer this year, and they wouldn't win a State Championship in quite a few states.
