Toughest place to play in the 15th
#61
South Floyd used to have a good fan section ......
#62

BasketBallonlyfan Wrote:1. Shelby Valley, I belive they have the best student section in the region for every game.

2. Paintsville, turn the heat down some. As small as that gym is, body heat will keep it warm.

3. Pikeville during big games, such as Shelby Valley, East Ridge, Pike County Central, and Paintsville. Not so tough in games other than those. Those are the games that the students really get into it.

I have Been to many pikeville game that seem more like a funeral...

Blue Crew was awesome tonight!!

From 2004 to 2006 Prestonsburg I think only lost 1 or 2 games at home.

They lost 10 games at home in the 2003-2004 season
They lost 2 games at home in the 2004-2005 season
They lost 1 game at home in the 2005-2006 season.

Not bad the last couple of seasons, but it's pretty bad now as they are 0-4 this season at home.

Far from the toughest to play at home.

Well if we are going to talk about records. Then lets compare there Schedules.
I would go out on a limb and say Paintsville's has been tougher at home the last 2 years.

As a player I would rather take on Shelby Valley at home 10 to 1 rather than going to Paintsville.
#74
Pikeville and Shelby Valley are the worst!

Paintsville's home record includes the Hoops Classic, so look at the toughness of competition difference.

The toughest place to play is gotta be SV hands down. Cause of the BLUE CREW stands on the floor right on top of the action.

Where the hell you think the student section stands at in Paintsville?..
They are heck of alot closer than SV section does...

Tell me have you ever played at SV?.. AS A PLAYER?

No I haven't played at SV or Paintsville as a player.

The pressure at Paintsville is so much higher than anywhere in the 15th..
Like I stated before, its even hard to warm up at Paintsville due to the pep section right at the court.. You can't hardley think because fans are screaming right in your ear.. Its hostile there, it affects the game so much.. The gym at Paintsville is so small, the body heat keeps the place hot..

Shelby Valley's gym is what hurts them.. Its just not very intimidating.. It way to open, and you can really concentrate better there.. If I had to pick where I could play against one of the two for the 15th Championship, I'd play at SV hands down..
#82
no doubt prestonsburg has the toughest homecourt adv. They have a hundred screaming fans in the student section harrasing the other players and getting into their minds! No doubt pburg!!
#83
Pburg section at one time made it a very tough place to play. But lately they are more spectators than screaming yelling fans. I would say that Paintsville is the toughest environment to play in, small, hot and loud. I saw the great OJ Mayo lose a game at Paintsville while he was with Rose Hill. Paintsville also plays a tougher home schedule than SV so that is a lot of the record difference.
#84
I know one thing.. Belfry should be the easiest.. No one does anything.. its a shame, and its total opposite in football
#85
As far as just the gym and atmosphere I think Paintsville is a tougher place to play. The reason SV has a better record at home is because they have had better teams since 2000. What I am saying is that Paintsville gets more of a home court advantage than SV does. But the Blue Crew does do a great job.

They play a tougher home schedule than Valley beause everyone, like all the people on here, think "oh shelby valley is all hype, i aint takin my team all the way to Eastern Kentucky to beat them" so yeah, they have to go on the road to play tough games.

1)Paintsville
2)Shelby Valley
3)Johnson Central
4)Prestonsburg
5)Pikeville
6)South Floyd
7)Belfry
8)Allen Central
9)Betsy Layne
10)Phelps

As for the SV/Paintsville tougher thing... Paintsville plays the way harder schedule at home. They bring teams in from all over the state to play, and some really good out of state teams.

Playing at LC is not very bad. What makes it tough, is that they have the worst lighting, makes it very hard for shooters that are used to lights with more than 40 watt bulbs.
