Shelby Valley Rate #4 in the state by CJ-Litkenhous Ratings..
#31
These are the same ratings that had Whitesburg, Fleming-Neon, and Letcher in his rankings all last year.

What are you talking about. Last I heard those three teams were called Letcher Central. Those schools were closed.
#33
Hes meaning that the guy had a rating for these teams last season despite the schools no longer existing.

SV is playing the best ball in the 15th hands down, they beat the second largest highschool in South Carolina by 25 tonight, the same team that destroyed a descent Pineville team.

Valley is playing great ball right now, no doubt, but idc if they beat the largest highschool in SC or any state, just because they're a big school dosen't mean they have to have a good team:thumpsup:

hey panther, i guess you didnt see the post about the dorman s.c. team being ranked 10th in the state, and i saw with my own eyes they had good size and tons of atheticism and are a very good team. you should appreciate you have a great basketball team next door to you over there in pike county and show them some support friend they have earned what they have and deserve great respect from everyone

Exactly. He has no idea about the 13th, 14th, or 15th region. Only the scores.

SV 4th in the state is as rediculous as the WYMT poll having Bell Co. and SV 2 and 3. While they have good records, has anyone looked at either SV or Bell Co.'s schedules. They have basically played no one. I can think of at least 7 14th and 15th region teams that could be undefeated if they had played either SV or Bell Co.'s schedules. So thus far, that proves nothing. Unfortunately, SV has such a weak schedule remaining that the best peak we may get at how good they may be will be the WYMT tourney.

We may just have to wait until March to see what they have. But Bell Co. hasn't done anything impressive IMO.

People need to quit putting valley down ....people are jealous and try to get on here and start stuff when they have no clue what they are talking about.....get over it.. valley is good......... number 4 in the state is overranked but they are still in the top ten atleast...and they will win the 15th region wait and see.
#40
I know its been said on here, but this is poll is based only on points averaged per game so y are ppl still talking like this means talent wise???but besides that valley should be up there in this pole right now because they have been scoring alot against weaker teams but they have also been reaching the high 70's against teams like corbin and bell... And thus far i think they deserve much more respect than what they have got

They are ranked 14th in the Lexington Herald.
#42
Since you are a Louisville fan, we will assume you don't know nothing about basketball anyway.

Is Valley 4th in the state? NO. Are they the best team in the mountains? maybe. Are they the best team in this region? yes. Do the cats deserve more respect most definatly. This team is young and people seem to think that the best thing to do with young kids is throw em up aginst some power house teams. You gotta build these teams confidence up. There young and there fun to watch. I keep hearing all this talk about Johnson Central and Paintsville. JC is is on a 7 game losing streak. And 2-2 aginst regional teams. Paintsville is 7-4. Which there best win is over a instate team is either Lawerence county, Pikeville or Magoffin. Give the boys some credit there a good team.
#44
No they are not the 4th best team in the state.
#45
Valley is a great team but by no means are they #4 in the state...IF and may i emphasize IF they make it through the region they will be lucky to win one game at the sweet sixteen...just as always we get thumped at state...i think they will keep it closer then previous years...but i do think the will win one game hopefully but im not going to count my chickens b-4 they hatch...
#46
wait til the wymt classic is over & see what they are rated

You can find it on MaxPreps.com. Dorman has over 2700 kids and are a 4A school, but that doesn't make a school good at any particular sport. Obviously it gives you an advantage, though. I watched them play part of a game, and they were decent, but nothing special.

On another note, Valley may not be a great team, but they play their hearts out and are absolutely a thrill to watch. Reminds me of Pitino's Kentucky teams. I really enjoy that style of ball. It says a lot about their depth that 2 players off the bench made the All Tournament team at the Cumberland Falls Invitational.
