any stats?

No stats...But it was a physical game. Haley Ratliff hit the hardwood and received a gash above her left eye. She came back in and overall the Lady Hawks did a tremendous job. A few mental mistakes but a good smart game all around. I think the crowd got a bit into the heads of Magoffin. It was a great game and I am so proud of my former team and alma mater. Let's go Lady Hawks and show everyone what you can do!!!

I'm guessing that Magoffin's lack of size couldn't stop the Lowe girl. But you gotta think that Magoffin is playing with one of their best players not even close to 100% in Micheala Howard, she just had knee surgery. When she gets 100% I look for Magoffin to turn things up a bit. Congrats to Pike Central on the huge victory.

I agree with you. Keep ya heads up Magoffin still got a couple months to get it together before it really counts. Congrats to Pike Central sounds like a hard fought game.

not to make excuses but Michaela's knee is not fully healed Brittneys ankle is not healed at all neither is Ashley Halls ankle but missing 19 freethrows alot of them front end of the bonus and shooting 26% from the field verses 52% for the game isnt going to win against a team like PC Ashley Jade finished with 32 and missed 7 or 8 freethrows Haley had 17 and played a very good floor game the Lowe girl was just to big for them to handle tonight but they will heal up and clicking on all cylinders very soon--good win Pike Central

Seems like everyone uses the "inbred" chant now, which is really pathetic.

I expect The Lady Hornets in the next meeting against Pike Central to completely dominate Pike Central. Magoffin will learn from this loss and with be ready for the next game. Magoffin lost to JC last year and they recovered real well. Magoffin will be the 15th region champs. I'm not from Magoffin I just respect those girls and they way they play tough even though they are undersized each and every night. I will say that the Lady Hornets are missing the inside game of Calloray and they will develop a lost post game as the season goes on.

IDK why everyone uses that chant anyways, just because Larry Flynt had a relationship with a distant family memeber, big deal, doesn't mean everyone in Magoffin does/has. Hell I would be proud of Larry Flynt coming from my hometowm whether he did it or not, look what he did for himself and MILLIONS of people in this world, lol. Still, it's ptiyful, childish and disrespectful, I'm sure there is plenty of dirt that could be dug up on other schools that would be hurtful if the opposing team sunk that low.

I made the drive from Johnson County to Salyersville many times last year. The Magoffin fans show a lot of class, especially from the students. A lot of other schools show no respect for any other teams. When the students did get out of control once or twice, I watched their principal go over there and sit everyone of them down. More principals need to take control of their schools and more schools need to show more class.

WOW..congrats to PC..BIG WIN

There was no sense in how our fans acted. It shows a lot of disrespect. Like SlammaBamma said it should not be taken personal but again it shows how immature our pep section is and they need to grow up and show more respect. Sorry for the way they acted.

WOW! This should shake up the Mountain Top Ten for sure! LOL! Congrats PC!

The biggest differences in the game were probably field goal percentage and free throw percentage. Pike Central's FG % was MUCH higher and the FTs were something like 15-17 for PCC and 8-22 for MC, I think.

The biggest difference is that PC is the BEST team. It was a 20 point victory until they put the 3rd stringers in and the little guard from MC shot the lights out. (Wow, she may need a little more pt). PC was dominating from the beginning. What won it for PC was not the domination of 5 or 12 but they did do their thing, it was the "role players". I just want to say hats off to the other players. There were 6 players for PC in double digits. That is how you win a big game. They just couldnt guard all of them. FG % was really good for PC and really bad for MC that did help as well but PC was the better team and just think we did this without the Sloan girl. All I have to say is WOW. PC is the team to beat in the 15th.
12-12-2006, 12:21 PM
Congrats to PC on the win....keep your head up Lady Hornets we love you.......both teams are very talented so we knew it would be a good game.
12-12-2006, 12:24 PM
WOW! I felt that PC would pull this one out, but not that big. Congrats PC. I look for MC to grow from this. I think that the big girl from MC that graduated did a lot more for them than what PUP realized.

Why didn't AD play? I thought that she was eligible.

It was a good game for Magoffin County to play. It showed them where they are early in the season.
It seemed that several of Magoffin's player aren't in the kind of shape they need to be to contend for the Regional Title again this year.
This statement is based on the poor free throw shooting and the poor field goal percentage.
As anyone that has ever played will tell you, when your legs are tired you will shoot poorly from the free throw line and your jump shot will be inconsistant.
The lack of conditioning also showed on the defensive side of the ball. The Lady Hornets allowed TOO many wide open looks for the lady Hawks. The were not able to rotate over quick enough to contest the shooters.
Good Luck the rest of the year for the lady Hornets. All this game proves is that you need to work a little harder.
Remember, Little Things Win Ball Games, ie, free throws, boxing out for rebounds, taking care of the ball, playing solid defense and finishing layups.
just think if you had shot a descent % form the free throw line, you would have been right in the ball game til the end.

I think this won't be a hard loose for the lady hornets but a great learning experiance. They now knoe that they aren't invinceable and that teams aren't going to just lay down and let them win. They need to learn from this work harder in practice and even harder in ball games and get ready for this matchup agin because i'd allmost gurantee that they will meet agin in the regional tournement.... I just hope their ready. Go Lady HORNETS!!!
