Anyone have the points scored for the players from Pburg?
#4
Another impressive win for MC and another strong performance for Eric Arnett. This win was a little easier that their previous two though
#5
great win, struggled some in the first, but really stepped it up in the 2nd half. only had about 23 at halftime. That is what impresses me the most, they don't get down on themselves. they fight back. came back from deficits against both betsy lane and jackson city. and made up for a bad 1st half tonight.
#6
Congrats to MC for the win but in all honesty this was probably one of the worst reffed games i have seen. P-burg led most of the game but the refs finally got the best of them.
#7
congrats MC

Prestonsburg has a lot of work to do. You can't just throw up 3's every 5 seconds thinking you're gonna make it every time. Congrats to MC.
#9
Prestonsburg was really sloppy. In the first half they looked like they may when this one by about 15 or more, but the big men got into foul trouble and after that Devin Rice took over. Patton had a good performance with about 10 or 12pts. I'm sure that Hughes led the team in points. He had some really amazing baskets, but catsfan was right all they did was fire up three's. I was really impressed with Mason Vances performance, he played his butt off but the refs just didnt call anything when he would get knocked to the floor, same thing for Hughes as well. I also think that there where a few players that shouldnt have played in that game. But Congrats MC on the win.

i dont believe patton did anything for the blackcats tonight they sent the ball into him all night and he wouldnt do anything with it...yea i agree vance did play his butt off in that game but just wasnt getting anything called....no excuses for the blackcats but that was only their second game of the whole year....that was MC's 5th game

This is always an excuse to blame it on the refs. I myself have done it many times but i disagree with you there. This game was not nearly reffed as bad as other games that I have seen. Magoffin played it smart and took it to the big guys and they fouled. Thats not being a bad ref when they call a foul. Magoffin out played P-Burg and that is why Magoffin pulled away in this one.
#12
one thing the refs honeslty was the best ive seen in a while, of course there was missed calls on both sides, but pburg cant expect to win with shooting 3's the whole game. Magoffin played patton well, and great defense all around. Good win magoffin
#13
My opinion about the game is that Magoffin played a sloppy first half and that is why pburg was actually close in this one. They went away from their gameplan and let pburg jump out to a early lead. Pburgs big man did not impress at all. Pburg shot way to many threes to win this game. They tried to force a lot and miss many easy shots.

What do you mean? They shouldn't have gotten any playing time or they shouldn't have been allowed too? Sorry, just confused.

Lets see Magoffin shoots 25 free throws and Pburg shoots 5 for the whole game. These are official stats. Worst officials I have ever seen. They completely took Pburg out of the game when they put Patton in foul trouble on two touch me fouls. Wendall Wallen and Romeo needs to give up the whistle, they are the worst. Magoffin walked all night, it was called one time. Magoffin played excellent defense on Pburg guards but they could not stop Patton inside. Pburg did not give him enought touches. But this is Pburgs first game and four of five starters are football. Things will improve for them after they play a few games.

This game can't be blamed on the refs. Magoffin played well as a team.
I wasn't impressed with Prestonsburg, or Patton...

Billy boy, what are you smokin? Patton scored everytime he got the ball after the first quarter. 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assist.

I bet you were impressed with the Refs, 25 to 5 freethrows. Way to go Wendall and Romeo. Magoffin has a team that hustles and does a lot with little talent. They are playing well, but unfortunately they probably will not make it to region, although I hope they do.
#19
Magoffin took it to the rim and was able to draw contact. P-burg shot threes. IMO, that is were the majority of the foul discrepency comes from.
#20
Blame it on the refs?? on your home court?? I guess you just cant believe Magoffin won fair and square. Walks??? When?? jeezz Congrats Magoffin on a great win, GREAT DEFENSE!!!!!!! :letsparty

The refs are always an excuse.....

Little talent? Two of Magoffin's players were listed top 10 in the region on Sports Overtime lastnight. There was also a coach from Pikeville College at the game tonight watching Arnett.

hornetfan, what does home court have to do with it. I stand by my earlier statement. 25 to 5, there is no possible way that should happen. I agree Magoffin played good defense. I would like see a high school game that the players decide the outcome. But some refs such as WW and Romeo have to make a specticle of themselves. No matter what floor they are on.

I guess you have to blame it on something. The hornets just outplayed ya all and thats it. we won by 12 , and if eric had been hitting tonite it would have been a much bigger deficit.
#27
I believe it is possible if one team decides to settle for perimeter jumpers.

yep you are correct, 25 to 5. The kids did not decide the outcome, Dubwa W and Romeo. Who is Eric.
