Deer Hunting?

How did everyone do on opeing weekend of rifle season?

I didn't get to go Saturday because I had a football game at UVA Wise, but after we got back to Union, I drove 2 hours home and packed my stuff up for Sunday morning. Then when I got to my spot, I found that it already had 3 hunters in it. lol But I'll get to hunt Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend, I can't wait.

I hunted hard all day Sat. Saw one really nice buck that morning but he was chasing a doe and I never even came close to a shot...actually never even thought about raising my gun.Saw around 6 deer Sat. Was a so-so day. only hunted Sun evening but had deer everywhere. Had 4 different does 15 yards or less but the only buck I could have got a shot at was just a 4 pointer. Considering I havn't ant venison in the freezer made me think about filling it up, but for me, does and small bucks are what I bowhunt for. Big bucks are just extra then. For me , Rifle is big boys only! I will be hunting a couple days this week and the whole weekend!!

They are thick on the industrial parkway and about everywhere else in Greenup. Heck I live in the city of Flatwoods and they walk through my yard.

There every where in ashland to!! The other night i saw a huge 12 point walking down the middle of my street!! NO LIE!!! There everwhere here in town and they don't care about humans! There was a doe that i got within 5 feet of the other day and it hardly moved!!

Shot it!....It field dressed at about 205 lbs. I actually stayed in Grayson at the Quality Inn. Drove about 20 minutes out on a farm to hunt. That was the only one we saw though in 2 days.
