P-Ville get ready for Hazard...i look for this one to be a closer game than last time.

I wanted to give a shout out to Jenkins...the players and fans. Keep you heads up and build off of the season you guys had. The Cavs had a very good season and playing in the playoffs is a good building step for the program. I hope to see good things from the Cavs in the future...Good luck next year Cavs, work hard and get ready.
As far as Pikeville...The Panthers need to come ready to play Friday night. Hazard has a good program and even though the Panthers beat them easily a few weeks ago the Panthers can not overlook the Dawgs and I'm sure Coach Jackson will not let that happen. I have felt Pikeville has been the top team in Class A Region 4 all year and if the Panthers come ready to play and take care of business they should add another region title trophey to the PHS trophey case. The Panthers need to remember the spanking that Hazard gave them last year when Pikeville was down and give the Dawgs a beatdown that they will remember until the two teams meet up next year.
GO PANTHERS!!!

Well I don't understand how you play a team to a 7 point game and then lose the next time by 44, but you can't push rewind and change so Cavs, use it as fuel and work harder then you ever have in your life this offseason(weights and practice), and next year we will be better

Well, not to be disrespectful, but the first game was indeed a fluke for Pikeville, and I think the Panthers proved that last night
But as mentioned previously, work hard this off season cavaliers, maybe we'll meet up again in playoffs next year

smack talk is somethin that goes on in every game even though no one wants it...its part of football...and to wish pikeville to get beat in the next round or killed by somerset is just being bitter...
just take in what u all did this yr and be proud of it cuz u all deserve to be proud...
gluck to the rest of the teams in the playoffs!

All-American Lineman Wrote:Well I don't understand how you play a team to a 7 point game and then lose the next time by 44...
...the reasons were stated on here by Panther faithful, but many shouted those people down as "excuse-makers" (as they should have).
Excuses nonetheless, there were valid reasons why the first game was what it was (I was there...some of it was obvious to the naked eye, some not until I watched the video I made of the game and hit the rewind button several times). To point those out after the fact looks bush-league and is disrespectful to the hard-working kids at JHS (the things that happened were OUTSIDE their control other than the blocked punt -- which they did a VERY good job on).
So, PHS's players and coaches were directed not to say anything about what REALLY caused what happened in the first game.
Different philosophy at PHS in regards to what you do in games in the regular season where you are favored to win big. Right or wrong (and sometimes I question it), you won't see as many 60-point margins of victory vs. lesser opponents than in the past. I think the approach is that you do enough to win, but use the game to work on things that you're not as good at but might need later in games with more meaning. Did the same thing last year at South Floyd -- and while the win wasn't "satisfying" to the fans, coaches, or players, it helped them answer some questions about what they could NOT do well with the personnel in the places they had them...it led them to work on different personnel combinations, and more than likely was the reason they beat Paintsville in a close game and then dominated a pretty good Harlan team.
Things aren't always what they appear in the box-score. (And that's not to take anything away from the Jenkins kids' and coaches' efforts in that first game! They took what they were given and made the most of it in about a three-minute stretch of the 4th quarter and got two big scores to make it tighter than it had been the whole game on both sides of the ball. Kudos to them on that!).

Not the same Pikeville anymore? Coming from someone who was down 37-0 at halftime with 2 other TDs called back, LOL...Pikeville could have won 100-0 if they didn't show their usual class and call the dogs off...
Jenkins comes to Pikeville in the regular season NEXT YEAR and you will get the same treatment. And if Jenkins is lucky enough to make the playoffs, you will get a 2nd dose if you get that far...

Well before you go running your mouth, know what you are talking about jetpilot because Jenkins and Pikeville are in different districts next year!
11-05-2006, 06:30 PM
Yes, you are right. I can now root for Jenkins every game. Just took exception to some comments about Pikeville even though Pikeville proved to the (Jenkins) doubters that they are very good, and several levels above Jenkins.
11-05-2006, 06:42 PM
well I said i would say it first but I havent had a chance to get on here because of the birth of my son friday! So here it is, jenkins didnt show up to play but that is no excuse, Pikeville played one heck of a game. They dominated the whole game. With that said I'm still proud of my Cavs they really turned around this year, and to the seniors good luck in the future I love you guys. Now i'm going to go spend some time with my baby. Good luck to the panthers in the rest of the playoffs.

You layed down because Pikeville came out ready in this one and there was nothing you could do to stop the beating. Take your loss and be a man about it. You didn't convert to the old Jenkins, you are the same Jenkins you always have been. All the other teams were just worse than usual. Build on this season for the next, and root for the team that beat you, it might make you look better.

Yeah Pikeville came out ready to play.. Yeah they shut us out.. and I hope the best for Pikeville in the rest of the play offs.. but you can't say we're the same ol' Jenkins because we're not, and no the other teams we beat were good, but we were better...
11-06-2006, 03:15 PM
Yes I can say you are the same old Jenkins because I did and you are. Until you beat someone meaningful and win a playoff game.
