dfblackcat53 Wrote:They Lose THIS Friday

I doubt it

yea, the Cards have to much momentum goin into playoffs, they gave belfry their first district loss in 5 years, no way they'll go down first round

Thats what I was thinking! What kind of statement was that to make after getting beat by the burg in regular season.

Prestonsburg is as far as they go IMO, the Cardinal is on an island see's the ship with the skulls and crossbones flag, but dosnt relized that some Blackcats are about to attack them.

we are not overlooking u guys this time u better expect a differnt score this time and it will be sc comin out with the big W and then we will go and get the w at pond creek then come back home and get 2 w and then go 2 state and get the w

Yep.

I think they will beat P-Burg to get revenge then Belfry will have their revenge on SC.
#39
Sc will beat P'burg and then get beat by Belfry.
#40
Yeah the Belfry team that you saw at SC is 4 to 5 touchdowns worse than the Belfry team you normaly see. Belfrys players and fans wants SC so bad they cant stand it. Coach Haywood watched the film and it just made him sick. They practiced harder than ever all year the 2 weeks after SC and now they are tackling. SC will get by Pburg then they wont know what hit them at Pond Creek.
#41
I think its funny how everyone keeps saying belfry's missed tackles got them beat. It was belfry's fault and SC had nothing to do with those missed tackles. Well thats what good backs do is cause missed tackles. SC's backs have done that all year. They get 5 or 6 yards after contact. They cause the missed tackles.
#42
SC will go to the 2nd round and travel to Belfry and IDK if they have what it takes to beat Belfry in their own backyard. It's been several years since Belfry lost at home in the playoffs (I think maybe Breathitt Co. beat them), but anything can happen...they did come back on them when the game was thought to be out of reach the first time.

I don't disagree with what you say.. but you must also realize that the majority of SC's runs had the initial contact in the backfield. It wasn't as if Kelly and Dials were the agressors making the play downfield..the missed tackles that stands out to me are the numerous times that Belfry played perfect assignment football and on a play that normally would be turned for no gain or a loss of yardage, watched Dials and Kelly pick up positive yards.

Can credit for the missed tackles be given to the talent of Kelly and Dials? Absolutely...
Was Kelly and Dials soleley responsible for all of them? No way....
#44
If they do make it to the second RD. Belfry will be waiting on them at Pond Creek. Then the priates will beat them by 20+ pts.
#45
I'm thinking they will beat P'burg, but will lose to Bwlfry by 2 TD's.

THE ROAD TO STATE GOES THROUGH BELFRY

Not locking up caused the missed tackles, this you will find out when you come to Pond Creek and end your season. Good back Belfrt has the better backs than SC

Belfry has better backs? Dustin May barely had 980some yards last week, I would say after the W against SV that May has around 1150 or somethin, not sure how many yds he got. But both Dials and Kelly have over 1100 yds each. I dont even see another Belfry back close to it.

Forgot to mention the offensive lines of both teams. Belfry's is much better than SC's which affects the runners.

There season will end at P-burg

Stats are very misleading when comparing Belfry and SC.
Sheldon Clark utilizes two running options instead of the three that split the carries for Belfry. Sheldon Clark's backs also have played more minutes and had more snaps than the Belfry backs over the course of the season.

It's also subjective to suggest that Belfry's line is much better than SC. In the only meeting between the two it would be fairly safe to assume that the line son that night appeared either to be equal or in the favor of the Cardinals.

That being said, when comparing the backs right now (and I am a Belfry fan) you have to give the current edge to SC for Dials and Kelly have a win over Belfry this season in a game in which they looked very impressive. I feel Belfry's backfield is more talented and more consistent,, but until they defeat SC the edge belongs to Dials/Kelly

Nice. The only reason I say Belfry's o-line is better is by what I've seen. Other people may think otherwise. But yea they're definately close and using 3 RB's makes a difference from using 2 RB's. So far I've just seen more impressive performance from Dials and Kelly. Not just because I'm an Sc fan but I know what Dials is capable of with over 1800 yds last year including playoffs.

I can agree with that. Reminds me of one of the best small backs ive seen, Mica Caudill. I seen him caught in the endzone at SC for a safety but manage to break free to the 3 yard line. I would say i cant wait for the rematch between these two teams but i'm more excited about the pburg match up. I hope SC proves their the team i've been saying they are.

Friday night will be their last game. All the way Prestonsburg!
#53
sc has won every game ive been 2 this season and ive only missed one game and im not missing anymore games

i agree on that one!!!

pretty confident there arent u? yeah, schs is a good football team, but there is no way that you all could compete with lou. western or even middlesborough..if they win friday, which i dont see happening, they will get beat at pond creek.
#57
Sc and Belfry will be a good rematch but Belfry would blow Pburg out of the waters again IMO
#58
IMO the belfry and cards game is where it will all come down to...BELFRY will be on thier own turf...........The CARDS will go home with a bus full of JOKERS!

No i think the cards will go home with a bus full of winners and will be getting ready to play in the next round while belfry will sit and wonder how sc beat them twice in one year

I think Sheldon Clark comes to Belfry and ends their season. I know that is pure prediction at this point. I just think the Belfry coaching staff is too good to not make the appropriate adjustments and come out firing on all cylinders.

I am of the opinion that Belfry called a "somewhat minilla" gameplan in the first meeting against Sheldon Clark. I honestly think Haywood saved his best for when it really counts.

That said. Shawn Hager knows how to coach against Haywood. Hager was Haywood's golden boy for 3 years and knows his old coach. I think Hager owes a great deal to Phillip Haywood for the coach his is today, but also has the advantage of being the apprentice of IMO the heir apparent (although no time soon) of Belfry football, Jim Matney. Hager dreamt about the game earlier in the season, he made his kids believe, and they pulled it off.

I don't think youth is served come round two. I think Phillip Haywood shows why he is a top 5 coach in the ENTIRE STATE and wins when it really matters. Belfry has wanted Russell for a year now. They received the wake up call they needed in week 8.

Haywood will make the proper adjustments (namely putting more beef on the d-line) come round 2 and Belfry will do enough to beat an inspired and full hearted Sheldon Clark team.
