Who, IYO will win the 14th Regional Title in 2007???
My pick would have to go to Perry County Central returning Couch, or to Letcher County Central returning their shortstop, second baseman, catcher, 3 or 4 pitchers, their DH and center fielder.

Perry Central imo Jon Couch is prolly the best pitcher in the 14th...does cordia have a chance?

Leslie will be tough as always.

Powell is going to be the underdog this year as they were last year, they may have lost some key seniors but will have much talent left to fill in the spots needed. The outfield wont miss much and infield will have a few starters back. Pitching will be the only thing to hold powell back as they do not have alot of depth. I'm sure they will be fine this year.

they have a good pitcher...corey bennigfield and alot of backup pitchers

You cant rely on just one pitcher though. He cant pitch all the games. IMO..i think that you need atleast 3-5 pitchers who can start a game..and actually produce. Powell will have Benningfield, Brewer, and Kinser. But i believe they will need to work on throwing someone else into the rotation. Plus a reliever. That wont hurt too much.JMO

Powell is not the underdog. They are the defending champs and will be better than last years team. They are anything but underdog. They will have alot more hitting than last year. Very experienced team with alot of leaders it should be a very fun year for Powell.

Champs can still be underdogs and there is nothing wrong with being an underdog.

[I]IMO I think powell will be a powerhouse in the 14th and are not to be underestimated. They did lose a few players, but have many other talented ones to fill their places. So my bet is on Powell.

I think that Powell will be fine. They lost some players, but they have the players to fill the holes Brewer will play a key role, and there will be a couple of others that will have to step up, like Pelfrey and Reed and Proffit. Ryan will help the outfield out with a good arm and steady glove.I tthink that pitching will be the deciding factor on how far they go.I think they will be fine.

Total Domination is correct. Pitching will be the deciding factor on how much they will produce during the season. They need a little bit more depth. As for defense, They should have a solid outfield and good infielders. They return Brewer,Profitt, and Benningfield..but who will play first. Rumors have it that Matt Reed could make the transfer. As for the outfield..it is up for grabs..im sure that you can throw Kinser in there considering he has started there the last 2 years. Johnson as well. But if Reed is making the transfer..who will be left to play.I hear the Ryan kid is decent. How will he help out on the team?

I agree, his name is Ryan Romans and he's a decent player. I've also heard some good things about the rison boy...I think he might have been a back up catcher last year? They also have southwood a senior, who performs as well.

I believe that if powell could win the 14th 1 year that they have a good shot in winning it again, because the 3 upperclassmen (Brewer, Pelfrey, Kinser) who were last year all region underclassmen will be bigger, more experienced, more talented than last year which will be a great contribution to the team, along with Benningfield who will be a senior power house pitcher.

the way i see it is that powell will have the best team by far and they will be able to find ways to beat big teams like estill that will give them a challenge...but my pick is powell and im stickin with em til the very end

Im with u all the way 3up3down

Leslie should have won the region this season, they choked. Powell was just the lucky dog. Letcher Central will win the region in 2007. They have the best shot. Sure PCC can compete, but they aren't disciplined enough. Too much trash talking. Powell will have a shot. It's just how the districts turn out and the luck of the draw.
09-19-2006, 04:05 PM
Well Powell is a good team...and good teams dont choke..everyone expected Leslie to win it all year long and Powell proved them wrong. They never gave up and thats what counts. Im sure Leslie will have a chance this year just like every year. Its just if they dont get the big head thinking that they will win it just like every other year. Good luck to all teams this year.

I belive that the powell/leslie game was not so much about luck but who came to play the longest and hardest. Luck does't just let u score 4 runs with 2 outs and nobody on the bases.

I agree with this. powell came ready to play that day.

very true...they never gave up. they werent going to lose in another regional final game. 3rd times a charm!!! Good luck to the pirates this season, I hope they win it again.

Perry Central will win region in 2007 jus watch and see

IMO. Estill will be a tough team for anyone to beat. They get all their pitching bat and not to mention they have some very good hitters in the lineup. I look for them to go pretty far this season and give powell a run for the district championship. I wonder how lee will look after losing Combs and that good senior class they had.

I think that Powell will win it but i belive that the girls bball have a better chance
09-21-2006, 05:56 PM
