I knew West could win but 63..... EEEEGAD, 63,,, that aint good for next week, for POwell either. I hope that they canmake some adjustsments and come out better next week.

You players should be ashamed of this. I know for a fact Coach Jones had a solid game plan going in. West is never really bad but Powell wasn't that much worse than West either. Coach Jones tries to teach you guys about the game as well as having good morals and conduct. I dont blame coach at all on this and until you guys get your heads screwed on straight and cocentrate on football instead of all this other crap, Your going to do nothing but possibly cost a good coach and man his job. Quit whining and making excuses about why you cant come to practice. If I was there you'd be doing 100 yard bear crawls all day monday.Coach Jones is a good coach and it's a shame you so called leaders for seniors are letting the man down like this. Billy Rice, Step up and be the leader, You still have some games you can win and since none of theses senior care or give a crap It's up to you to lead this team as a soph.
Be a leader and no matter how bad things get, Always be a leader. Coach Jones lives football and you guys are making him look bad out there. Alot of people who don't know or havn't been around Powell football asume it is the kids are not being coached correctly. They have a head coach up there that cares too much about those kids and the football team. The man is a good football coach and a good moral person as well. Coach does it on his own and has very little help.
I'm sure his other coaches are good guys but that dont help win games.He's got 1 other coach that has ever even coached high school ball. Now there is talk of getting rid of the guy when they wouldn't even get the man quality help and stuck him with a bunch of teachers who know nothing of the game.Coach Jones has had the highest winning percentage in Powell history over the past 2 years. He has some good seniors and Im not saying all of them but some of the ones who are supposed to be leaders are trying to start fights with their own teammates during games because they were losing. Thes seniors know this man's job may be on the line and embarris a good football coach. Coach Jones puts everything he has into that program and these seniors repay the man with a 61-26 loss at West carter. Coach put in hours a day scouting and preparing and had a good game plan.

im afraid that powell will have to wait 2 weeks to bounce back from west. russell is coming off a BIGGGGGG win and won't come out flat. next week might be nastier.

yes you are right. coach jones is a great coach and it is not his fault that their are some seniors with attitudes. maybe the whole team should just quit putting up with these seniors , don't block for them and just give them the cold shoulder and they would either quit or get with the program. there are a few juniors that are there and can be leaders and play the game with heart. those are the ones that are the leaders.

Coach J has the right idea. The man is playing a soph.qb because he's trying to build for the future. A senior qb doesnt do him any good next year and this tells me hes trying to buld a program. You got big Elam jr., Rice soph, Howell jr, Big Ledford jr, Brewer, Harding who are Freshman. This team is young and coach is playing theses guys to build for the future. I understand how you feel qb destroyer, But you can't sink to that level bud. You do have some seniors like Matt, Who actually care. You got big Koonts whos 300 lbs also will be a senior next year. Coach is trying to build a program but if you guys perfrom like you did Friday, People round there are gonna blame coach for it. You guys still have some games you can win and take care of business. You guys are very young, Your gonna take some lumps, But you still have some wins in you this season. You seniors have talent but you guys are going to have to suck it up and get it done at practice. In order to build a program Coach Jones has to be back, New coach you go back to square 1. Bring back KC Jones to do your rb's and db's, Coach says the guy does a good job. Bring me back to do your o and d line and a guy like Melton who is dedicated I wouldnt have a problem at all with the guy because the guy is at least dedicated. Hey the only way Id even consider it is if Coach Jones is back. Next season is Powell's year but this season get you some wins and the seniors you have can have some memories, For guys like Matt Sebey. I still say John Shriner is one of the best lineman I have ever coached. Harlan will be lol.

I have learned this in the last week,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, You can teach a boy to play football but you cant give them the HEART to do it with........... Talent is talent and that you can work on, but if you dont have the heart out there, you just as well set the bench.......... I'll take heart anyday............

Are these linemen that start now, were they the same ones as last year or did they loose someone?

Still #5 for his first year playing did well. He didn't get to carry that much because Powell went to the air but he had 140+ receiving yds and 140+ kick return yds....thanks to #2 stepping up to be a leader and take some control. Good luck against Russell.
