I came to UofL this fall and didn't know a soul down here. I recently joined a boxing club on campus. I'm in the middleweight division (180-200 lbs), I'm undefeated to this point with a KO about 54 seconds in the 1st to go on my record. I really enjoy it and it has given me the chance to go out and meet new people. I'm in another match on Wednesday, if I win this one I'll be the campus champ at the middleweight division. Wish me luck.

Haha, I didn't get the nickname the Belfry Brawler for nothing my Senior year. You can thank me for them nice security rails on the front row in the Paintsville High School gym.

Well, I won my match in the second round tonight, so I'm the middle weight champ on campus. It was a little odd taking on someone that's left handed, but with some good advice from Paintsville's golden glover Daniel Pugh, I was able work him over and put him down for the count about midway through the round. So I'm pretty pumped up about it.

Yeah, IDK about going up that high in a weight class, if I did I'd lose the 6 pack.

I remember that night VERY well. And I remember the "Runyon's Rowdies" sign we bought and put on the rail infront of the pep section too. I wonder what happened to that sign and WHY they took it down.

Congrats man! Keep it up! Me and my friends "box" a lot (if that's what you want to call it, I only call it boxing because we wear boxing gloves haha)....it's fun/the most challenging sport I've ever played, involving both cardio and muscle strength. Looks like we'd be in the same weight class. Good luck in your other fights.

Mayfield's in Pikeville is good too. I used to box back in the day, but after blowing my knee out it never really fully healed. I went there a few weeks ago to try it out and it just felt like it wasn't there anymore....also hurt pretty good too. However, it is the most complete workout anyone could do IMO.
