If my son were injured and couldn't play a year of football, I would feel bad for him. But I would help him learn that sometimes that's how it goes. Life has a way of throwing a kink in our plans. You have to learn to make the best of it and move on.

His education is the most important thing and there is no way I would put my son's education on hold for a year so he could participate in an extracurricular activity. But that is just me, I don't claim to speak for anyone else, and I'm not judging anyone else's decision.

I think we are becoming a society that tries to shelter little Johnny from any disappointments and kids never leard to deal with adversity.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but I guess I look at it differently in some ways. Kids should have every option available to enjoy their youth. I know the first 18 years of my life seemed like it took forever to pass, but ultimately it was just a small step that helped develop me into the person I am. But looking back that time goes by way too fast for us all, imo.

What I am saying is this: Eventually, this kid is gonig to have to wake up every morning, work 12 hour days, be underpaid & overworked, worry about bills, health insurance, etc. It is and inevitable part of life, and I know that. But I feel that in this situation, the kid deserves the opportunity play if they apply for a medical red-shirt. If for any reason at all, just so he can look back and not wonder "what if?".

I dont think that bowe is going to be able to play this year, under any circumstance.. but there was talk about him getting a medical redshirt for next year so we'll see

Umm nick bowe is doing ALOT better, but all this about MEDICAL REDSHIRT, id hearsay!! Nicks looking at a 3-6 week pysical therapy, and afterwords he SHOULD be able to start running again and imo start practicing again..But for now he's not taking an extra year..He should be back in the playoffs, cant wait either..well untill next time..
