I know we are a Kentucky but I know we have a lot of folks who are around and follow Ironton football. 

What’s going on over there? Facebook is blowing up with folks standing with Coach Pendleton and saying he shouldn’t be fired. 

Seems very odd coming off a State Title

There’s a lot of what ifs, speculation, sour grapes, finger pointing, and whatnot going on across the river for sure. I can’t say what is and what is not factually driven information. I do not know the HC personally, but from the outside looking in, he wins games, gets kids to the next level, and seems to do a good job within the community. I’m not sure what else people could want. From what I am reading and hearing though, there are some ruffled feathers with all of the additions made to the roster each year in the form of transfers. I also read somewhere that there is concern with the HC getting offers from other schools (Cincy Moeller) is one, that has offered him a job, for money, but he is turning them down and using it as leverage for more pay each year. That is one thing I’m hearing, though I know nothing of it being true or not. The other is some boosters, board members, former coaches, not happy with the “non-homegrown” talent running the show. There’s definitely something going on though. They did the same thing with the original Lutz years ago.

I started following Ironton a few years ago when they played JC. Was glad to see them win a state title last year.

I go fishing a lot near the Ironton area. I'll try and see if I can hear anything.  Idk it all might just be speculation what I'd hear. There is a guy or two I see in the area that might know something. 

Definitely didn't expect to hear this coming off of a state title.

Ironton has always been very Odessa-Permian like. You MUST win. And even when you are winning, you must win by more. Or win the way everyone thinks you should win. It’s a tough job
