Open Job: Hazard

Who is the Noble mentioned here? If it’s Coach John at Leslie County I don’t see him leaving Hyden for Hazard. He has a great situation at Leslie and has made a lot of friends there, especially the popular and influential former coach and superintendent Larry Sparks. The last time I spoke with John he seemed to be very content with his job there.

1. Keith Adkins
2. Robert Amis
3. Keaton Belcher

Mays is still in contact with Hazard but no application.
Amos and Belcher would probably be good options. Adkins moves around like every other year and is towards the end of his coaching career. Belcher is the best option off this list.

and Amos don’t move around?

Robert Amis has been out of the game directly for a few years, could be some time for him to get back in the game and settle in where he is local. I think he is probably at that point in his life.

Has Browning been in touch with John Noble?I can see Noble in Blue and Gold.

Coach Noble seems pretty content but I’d say whoever they hire is going to determine that program’s future. I understand a number of parents were very unhappy after the region and entertaining transfer possibilities.

Someone better cut a big check if Amos the hire. Now…and down the line when he screws up again. I have a feeling the next coach of Hazard will have coached a different team in the 14th this past year.

The hiring is huge as you have a couple players that are key to the program waiting to make a decision based on this. The right hire and they will stay, but if not then the new coach may be coming in to a rebuilding program.
#73
I think there needs to be some NIL deals for the current players so they will stay. A few nice trucks may keep them around.
#74
Huff
Perry from Belfry
Perry from Bath Co

Those the finalists?

They’ve really reached the bottom of the line if so. He’s banking on bringing players with him. But he couldn’t win last year with those players. He won’t last 2 years at Hazard before they get rid of him. He’s a good guy but he’s yet to prove himself at Prestonsburg or Knott Central with working with the talent he has.

I thought there was a rule that players can't follow coaches to their new school.

Wonder if they contacted Winston Lee, from Jenkins?

Seems personal. Probably over personnel

What’s the latest on the rumor that Seth Caudill is transferring to Clark County? If true that would be a big blow to whoever inherits the job at Hazard.
The thing about that move though is GRC has everyone returning next year from a 27-6 team and although he is a very good player he may have problems starting for the Cardinals. They will most likely be the top rated team in the 10th next season.

There is.

John noble has officially announced his retirement from wrestling. Look for him in the near future to also retire from Leslie county and be at the helm for the bulldogs. You heard it here first.

His parents won’t move that far away.

Not gonna be a bulldog.

I’m kinda rooting for Matthew Perry. That way- Hazard will NEVER win another region title!!???
#86
Matthew Perry is well connected in that part of the state. He might be bringing in some kids with him. Wouldn't be that crazy of a hire.
#87
Hearing that Adkins is still left to interview. I’d expect and announcement Friday evening or early Monday.
#88
Who has interviewed?
#89
Heard interviews will be completed today. Would love to know who all they interviewed.
#90
I think it’s down to 2, which have been named quite frequently. I would expect a decision next week.
