I originally picked FC with the upset when making tournament picks. I have debated and debated and think I have to stick with this prediction. Think Martin overlooks Floyd Central and it’s an all 58 district final. Floyd central wins it all.

I’ve been thinking about this game and honestly I think FC matches up with MC better than any other team in the region, so if the upset is going to happen then it’ll be in this game. FC has pretty good athleticism and have been solid with their perimeter defense lately and I think that’s the key to slowing this MC offense down. Have to cut off penetration from Watts and then rotate quickly to get a hand up against the kickout 3. FC has pretty good post play and rebounding going right now too with Howard and Buck, so I think FC can win this game with the right gameplan. Whether they will or not, idk, they’ve been wildly inconsistent all year and honestly pretty poorly coached. They should be much better than they are. I think they should’ve went 6-0 in the 58th because they should’ve been a matchup nightmare for everyone. They’re a very talented team but most of the times I’ve watched them they look lost on offense and have been unable to develop much chemistry with each other. I hope they win it because I like seeing Floyd county schools be successful, but I doubt they will. This MC team is peaking right now, but a perfect gameplan and perfect execution from FC has a punchers chance. If MC is able to get offensive rebounds and fast break points then this one will get ugly quick.

I can see a scenario where Martin Co does overlook Floyd Central, and it turns into a matchup like their first meeting. 

FC is playing with that house money mentality at the moment, nothing to lose. They don't have a primary defender who can stop or even contain Watts, but that's been the case for every team in the region this season. Think Martin will pull away with this one, I hope I'm wrong, but I can see Floyd keeping it close for a good portion of the game.

Neither team likes to play much defense. Floyd Central has some really athletic kids to matchup with the freaks that martin county have. I mean freak in a good way before anyone gets mad. I think it will be a good game. Obviously everything has to go right for FC to win but you never know
