Currently 20 minutes in, Bell has attempted 4 threes but 11 shots at the rim ON MABE.
THIS IS COACHING MALPRACTICE!!
PATHETIC
south won 59-43
Jeff Davis owns Brad Sizemore at this point. It’s not debatable. Why does my favorite team choose to destruct themselves offensively in every sport?

I figured South would win but surprised that they won by that much. South has their eyes sit on Rupp.

I think that the rugged schedule that South played contributed to the level of play that you are seeing from South at this point……Bell, in the future needs to challenge themselves more, much like Corbin used to challenge themselves.
Jeff Davis does not concern himself with regular season wins…..he does an incredible job of developing talent and teams. Plus he has a great bunch of assistant coaches! Huge advantage over pretty much everyone in the 13th.

Everyone saw this coming from Bell. Cupcake schedule, refusing to play the way the team is built to play when it matters, and playing right into how South wanted to play the game. Oh well, pretty record. Will go the same way next year.

Sizemore is a schedule merchant, how much longer will Bell County and the fanbase fall for this trick?

Bell will be fine next year, but they ran up against two better teams with senior star power their final 2 games (HC and SL) It’s looking like we have a good shot at the final many of us thought we would see all year.… No disrespect to NL and Pineville especially after seeing both teams get momentum building wins in their first region games, but it does feel like we are seeing two teams on a collision course for each other (HC vs SL) Saturday’s games should be a lot of fun to watch, looking forward to it.

I truly feel sorry for some of these coaches.

My ex-girlfriend always hammered me with this: "Honey, you peaked too soon." Bell, you peaked too soon.

2-6!!!
2 FOR 6 !!!
Anyone on here has saw me rant over and over. Two weeks ago the bobcats went 11-20. I’ve seen 13-22, 14-25, 10-18, ALL YEAR LONG AND THEN WE DECIDED TO DRIVE THE BALL ON THE BEST DEFENDER IN THE STATE AND ONLY SHOOT 6 THREES. PEOPLE CAN SAY OH WELL SOUTH DID THIS, BUELL PASSED ON A WIDE OPEN THREE TO DRIVE AND GET SWATTED INTO THE CHEERLEADERS, I KNEW THEN. WHO TOLD THESE KIDS TO CHANGE!! THAT PERSON DESERVES PUBLIC EXECUTION.

I found myself counting 3s because of Gridiron's comments about needing 20 every game.
I've seen Bell a lot and it seemed they had a lot of success by penetrating and kicking out for wide open shots. They weren't open that often last night.

He had 25 last out against SL and kicked to open shooters. Had 8 this game(all on switches and fouls). That is was why this game was won and lost along with SL guarding within 2 feet on every possession and not allowing easy looks.

South really cut the drives off. At least from what I can tell, as I was a mile away in the general admission seating at The Arena.
As a South fan, Pineville will be a tough game. I know about Sawyer Thompson and the Moser kid, but nothing about the Jeremiah Beck kid. Where's he been at? Going to be an interesting game, as South will be defending a true PG in Sawyer. Pineville has solid wins over Clay and Knox Central. Looks like they lost to HC by 17 a few weeks back, but that was then, they're on a roll and playing up.

Good points. I see South switching some, but Rawlings will be defending Sawyer and trying to prevent those drives. Should be be fun matchup between those two.

I watched Jones draw up 5 or 6 sets that were mind blowing just to get maddox that ball in the district championship game with a little bit of space, and in his spot. Yes every so often he can catch it 40 feet away and go to work, but if he can catch the ball on the wing with space to work and a defender coming off 3 screens, he is in a lot better position to score and terrorize teams.

Last night, it was the same motion sets that resulted in nothing but a drive by burnett or buell off a ball screen. So simplistic, YET SO IGNORANT. WHY CHALLENGE MABE??? I’m guessing maybe they thought in both games if mabe gets in foul trouble they can exploit him changing his interior defense, but why not draw up actions to get shooters open. You know Mabe is on burnett, why not utilize hall as a pure shooter? Why not utilize thomas as a shooter? Why not use burnett as a decoy?
Everyone can say “South did a great job at defending the 3” and they did. But how hard is it to guard actions with no purpose? In the first 28 minutes, ONE ACTION WAS RAN WITH THE PURPOSE OF GETTING A SHOOTER A GOOD LOOK. That would be like saying “Maddox we’re going to use you as a post up big man on mabe instead of doing what works” And “mabe we are going to get yo open shots on the perimeter forget about the paint”
