#1
District 8- North Laurel, Pulaski County, South Laurel, Southwestern

Is Pulaski County the top team in 2025? This is becoming a very competitive district. How does everyone stack up in your opinions?

You’d assume Pulaski would win but southwestern won’t be a push over.

Agree this is probably Pulaski's district again this year, but I watched South a couple of times last year and was real impressed with their younger talent. Zach Thomas at WR was one of the better athletes I've seen in a bit. Gave me some young Quisenberry vibes. Maybe someone that watched them more can lemme know if that's the case for sure.

Pulaski County ran clock on everyone in their district being led by mostly sophomores and juniors. The tide has changed fast in that district and it likely isn’t gonna flip back for awhile.

Also.. please don’t compare anyone from South Laurel to Quisenberry. That’s the craziest thing I’ve read on here all my life. That’s saying a lot because OSH is on here quite a bit.

North Laurel got a good win over Wayne County late in the year and actually played with Southwestern in 2 games. So looking at Southwestern, they lose come key pieces and North looks to bring back everyone. South Laurel also got some nice wins for the limited time that Hines has worked with the team. Pulaski looks to be the favorite and only going to get better as time goes. I think 5A will be wide open this year as most the heavy weights have taken a hit and other teams the last couple of year like Frederick Douglass and Highlands have moved on to other classes. I think Pulaski could make a deep run in this year's playoffs. How far they go, way to early for that but again, 5A is wide open.

I agree I think 5A is wide open next year. As for district 8, not so wide open. I’ll be impressed by any team that avoids a running clock against Pulaski. They lost a couple great weapons on both sides of the ball. But return just about everybody else. I hope they have a challenging schedule outside of district again.

Hard to say who will grab the 2 seed, I’d never count southwestern out. But as it stands currently I think one of the laurel schools will take it this year.

I agree about Southwestern; they are fundamentally sound every year. This district with the coaching changes has tightened up all the way around. I think other than Pulaski, the other 3 teams are a toss-up for this coming season. Should make for some nice games to watch. I like this district.
