Breathitt County 2025
#1
a lot of young players made impact for the bobcats who fell in the 2nd round to state finalist beechwood
is breathitt a step closer to being back in 2025???

Breathitt County is going to be very tough to beat next season. Should be one of their best teams in a long time, I’d imagine. Losing Sperry and Terry hurts, but their ground game needs to be the focal point of that offense.

I think they’ll see a stout Bracken County team in the 2nd round and if they get by them, they’ll likely have to face Belfry, Beechwood, or Prestonsburg in the regional round.

I’ll be interested to see what type of schedule Moore has cooked up for Breathitt, because IMO, the Bobcats need to avoid losing more than 2 or 3 games for RPI purposes.

Breathitt benefits from the realignment probably more than any team in 2A. They should win every game in their district by around 35 points next season, which puts them hosting 2 very winnable playoff games before the RPI kicks in for round 3. They return explosive RB and QB as sophomores and if they can replace Sperry outside and keep the size of their line up then they can be a problem in the 3rd round, especially if they end with with a 2 vs 3 matchup with Pburg. Belfry usually plays a brutal schedule which could possibly hurt them with a 4 seed RPI or reward them with a 1 seed. We will see.

I feel like we say this a lot but things looking brighter. Eli and Miles running the offense next 3 years is gonna be fun. The new district we are in, we should cruise through it and gain an advantage of making a deeper run next year. A name we don’t see on here a lot of Brayden Barnett. He is a monster on the D side and helps on offense big strong kid. Sperry is a huge loss and hard shoes to fill but I’m excited and hope the boys are too and let’s work hard this off season and compete with the beachwood next year.

Anyone heard whose gonna be or try to be on next year schedule?

Estill is the only team I know of that’s on Breathitt’s schedule. I for one am stoked about this. I think Estill and BC should play every year. Win or lose.

I think you will see alot growth in the Bobcats. Offense has a chance to be really tough. I think the defense will be much improved as well.

Until the administration/coaching staff demands discipline on and off the field…..Breathitt will continue to languish in 2nd round exits.

The new district alignment will help the make the 3rd round now. Just have to win that 50/50 2nd round game.

Undisciplined, bad behavior will never result in a winning culture.

They’ll likely see Bracken or Owen county in the 2nd round and I think Breathitt will be much better than either of those two teams.

Bracken will be pretty tough next season again.

That’s true, their RB is very good and comes back next season, but it’s a tall task to beat Breathitt in Jackson in November.

Hard to beat them anytime there if you’re about evenly matched. You have to be 14+ better to
Have a good shot at it.

One player made 98% of personal fouls and he is sr. Breathitt will be much improved in that aspect. Kylan Combs will be back playing and will be huge help on defense. Kid is walking miracle. I think he will be a huge lift on defense.
Offense should be really good and very balanced attack. Defense should improve as well.

So, Breathitt's the only team in the mts. that gets a home field advantage? Everyone else plays nice. Got it. So, is it the refs? I don't know of any that lives, works or connected to Breathitt. Is it the coaches who cheat? If so, it isn't working too well. You must have not seen too many games in the 14th Region. Unfortunately, it's a fact of life.......in most sports in the mts.

I’m excited about this team in 2025. They return 90% of team . They really improved through out season especially last half of season. Should be a really fun season for bobcats fans.

I had heard somewhere on social media that you guys were getting a stud linebacker. Any truth to this?
