FC is coming off a convincing victory to open the season. 

Pburg is hoping to get in the win column after a loss on the road at Letcher Central. 

Everyone's thoughts on this one.

Prestonsburg struggled defensively and on the boards vs LC and that will probably continue tonight at FC if they don't clean it up. More blocking out and better footwork on defense are needed. Keithley is great, but they have to get Allen, Napier and Slone more involved in the offense. They can't expect to win this game or this district if their offense is totally dependent on 1 person every night, no matter how good he is. I think Keithley will be the best player on the court, but I look for Johnson and Buck to have a big night for FC.

Tonight for Braxton from what I’ve seen as last year Spriggs got in Braxtons head and torn him up. Johnson can do what he did Monday every night but for them to open the court up for Wesley Buck and Spriggs is to let Boyd get warmed up from outside last year he had 11 3s on Pburg. Fc will win the boards with having guys like Buck, the 8th grader Howard and other guys. If fc can stop Braxton which I did they can it’ll be a long night for the Blackcats if they want a chance tonight they better box out, hit shots, and stop Floyd central from running and make them play a half court set. I think fc wins this one with a comfortable lead the whole game because of the blackcats weak defense. I can see keathley getting shut down and not doing much for the blackcats and for fc i can see a big night out of boyd if the blackcats come out in a 2-3.

I’d say they will have to play zone because they sure can’t run with FC and that’s no offensive to them but FC has all fast guys and love to run and attack. Johnson and Boyd will shoot them out of it.

I think you're right about the zone. They don't have the speed to run with FC. Hadn't heard that Spriggs was playing tonight, so that definitely will make a for a tough mountain for Pburg to climb if he plays. I think Pburg has the size and length to play zone effectively this season but they didn't move their feet very well at all in their zone play against Letcher and that gave up way too many open shots. If pburg can learn to move more efficiently on defense to utilize their length and disrupt shots and cut off penetration then they'll have a chance, but if they play slow and look disoriented again like they did on Wednesday then they'll be in trouble. I think fast break points might be the key to this game. If FC has 15-20 FB points then they probably win this game handily, but if Pburg is able to force them to play a half court ball game all night and can get a hand in the face of their shooters and block out then they've got a chance to win. We'll see how Tackett adjusts to the Letcher loss, but he needs to fix some things, for sure.

I’d say you’re right on everything you’ve said. Blackcats gotta box FC had 52 rebounds last game and 22 offensive them was offensive rebounds can’t allowed 2nd chance points. Kaden Allen has always had a big game vs FC he loves the rims gotta not let him get heated up

It's too early to tell a lot about either team, but my biggest question for Prestonsburg is, can Allen, Napier, or Slone be consistent enough to pull off the win against the Jags and be competitive in the 15th? We all know Keithley is going to get his, but can someone else step up and be a consistent scorer for Prestonsburg. All three have shown signs of being able to be that guy, but they haven't been consistent in doing so. The Jags are a tough matchup and Spriggs is one of the best up and coming guards in this area. The Jags are a tough nosed team who like to play defense and rebound. I don't think they are a great offensive team, but Prestonsburg can't afford to give them easy opportunities in transition. I don't think Prestonsburg is very deep, and they can't afford to get anyone in foul trouble. If the Blackcats can limit their turnovers, and take high percentage shots, they have a chance. If Floyd Central can play their type of game, and get Prestonsburg flustered, then it could be a long night.

He’s got varsity players 1-9. The 8th grader deserves to play and will continue to play and he’s been using the players who can play they just aren’t enough time for all of them to get good minutes.

Spriggs was out there 60% from the way I saw it. He was toying with them boys but he was taking plays off and the offense was really stagnant at times. Next game look to get Boyd more involved consistently throughout the game and Spriggs has to get the train moving
