Duke 84 Auburn 78
#1
Final.

Maluach had 2 points in 15 minutes of action, so he looked to actually be more effective in the Kentucky loss than he was in this win.

Flagg had 22.

The SEC 14-2 versus the ACC over two nights. Incredible. Of course, the two happened to be a Kentucky loss and a Duke win. Gag. And curse you Christian Laettner.

Definitely the statement win Duke has been looking for. I've been impressed with Auburn so far this season, especially with their tenacity on the defensive end of the floor, and the way they execute on the offensive end, Bruce Pearl coached teams just have that physical, tough edge to them, and with the way the game started out last night I figured Auburn would run them out of Cameron Indoor. But after the timeout when they got up 13-2, everything changed, Duke who reminds me of Kentucky, more of a finesse team, really haven't played any teams who will play them physical, provided that same type of physicality, especially on defense. Auburn going deep into the shot clock, basically running their offensive sets 35 feet out which you just can't do. Plus the Evans kid coming in and hitting 6 3's in the first half was an unexpected boost. Figured Pearl and staff would make some adjustments at half, but they never really did, Broome finally got it going, but Duke was in such a rhythm offensively up to that point that they just kept holding Auburn at bay. Flagg played a great game, this was the type of game that can propel him and give him more confidence moving forward. Of course was hoping Auburn would win, but a good showing by Duke on their home floor.

I watched the 2nd half of this one.  Good game.  Duke has played one heck of a tough schedule this year.  Second half was back and forth.  Parts of it reminded me of the UK vs Clemson game.  Duke remained poised every time Auburn clawed their way back.

Duke got the win but Auburn battled till the very last second.  About like UK did against Clemson.  One thing I learned,  none of the SEC teams quit.  Will likely make for a fun action packed conference season!

The SEC only with 2 loses in this challenge.  The two ACC teams with wins couldn't let their foot off the gas, the first second.
