Heard a rumor that Jermey Hall applied for the job. Floyd Central will an assistant principal job open and maybe another with hager retiring. If I know them like I think I do sure don’t see Greta Thornsberry being there longer and letting Jermey be the principal.

He coached in middle school and had a good winning team. He coached the defense this year.

I also heard that Jermey hall is in the running. I think he would be a great fit for FC. Could maybe win a few playoff games with the roster he has, would help if he added a few to it though.

Would be a terrible hire.

I would like to see Jeremy Hall get the job.  He had some good teams at Allen Central.  No one would care more about the players and be more passionate about the program than him.

As a Floyd County guy I would love to see FC hire a coach that can lift them up to be regional contenders, but I don’t think Hall or Johnson are those guys. Hall had what, 2-3 playoff wins in 12-15 seasons at AC? Something like that? Johnson presided over possibly the worst 2A defense in the state this season. That’s not what I would be looking for if I was someone seriously interested in creating a winning football program on Beaver Creek.

Now, if we’re just talking about hiring someone who will love and understand those kids then I think those two guys would be great hires, they’re both great people who know the politics and families on Beaver, but they’ll never compete against Pburg or Martin County moving forward if they do. FC really needs to find someone from the outside who can come in and start from scratch to get people there excited about football. Idk who that guy is, but I don’t believe he’s been mentioned on this thread yet.

Let's be real, football will never be a priority at Floyd Central. You may have a decent team here and there, but they will never consistently have a strong program. When you think of that area, you think of basketball. People in that part of the county live and breath round ball, that's how it's always been and that's how it's going to always be. This isn't a knock on the kids, because they have the athletes to field a competitive team, but for the most part, the best athletes play either basketball and now baseball. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see anyone taking the job and creating the excitement needed to turn the program around. I don't like rumor's, but their are rumblings of a couple of their best athletes who are underclassmen who may be transferring to Prestonsburg next year. If so, that would be a major blow to the program.

Jeremy Hall has won 1 playoff game in 14 seasons in 1A/2A. Hoskins never had a winning season at Paintsville. The hire needs to be someone the kids already know and respect and can get behind... doesn't help when that community only cares about 1 ball and its not football!!
