Ashland @ Great Crossing 12/2
#1
Tomorrow is opening day for Kentucky High School Basketball and this is one of if not the most exciting game on opening night. The Top two players in the state will be on the court (Zander Carter, Malachi Moreno). Zander Carter of Ashland is a very very good offensive player probably the best in the state, who can guard the other teams best player and limit them. Malachi Moreno is one of the best Centers in the Nation and is a force to be reckon with in the paint on defense and offense. Both Teams play quick and are very fun to watch, What’s everyone’s thoughts on this game?

Jennings guards the best offensive player and always has. Not saying Carter hasn’t but 98% of the time it’s Jennings. APB style is grinding it out. If Jennings doesn’t play tomorrow. This game won’t be close 20+ pts difference at minimum. Billy trying to hype this blowout game up. Carter is going to have to put up some better numbers before anyone believes this. He is a good player. Best guards don’t shoot 68% ft sub 38% three. IMO
He does a lot of things good for a guard. Rebounds well and a capable defender for sure.

Great Crossing is overrated and they always have been. Jennings won’t be there it seems so yes Carter will guard there best player. Great Crossing only won by THREE against Boyd County. You can’t even say some dumb shit like Boyd is better than Ashland. Ashland is better than Boyd by a long shot and they barely lost to Great Crossing. If you don’t think he’s the best guard in the state that’s ridiculous. Ranked 2nd best player in the state on everything, Behind Moreno. There’s a reason Power 5s are wanting him.

GC will dominate APB. Besides dealing with a 7ft kid national ranked. GC guards across the board are way better then guards at Ashland. APB has a roster of kids from across the region. Smith was 6/7 man at BC. Lalonde would be if he stayed at BC. Clark comes off the bench at BC if he stayed. Hoskins only starter who has varsity experience from Morgan as a starter. Neel ineligibility still a factor. I’m wondering how do you come to a ridiculous conclusion like you just made. Carter will be the only starter from last year if Jennings doesn’t play. Lalonde lost his spot to Adkins early in the season. Getting crushed tomorrow will have a lasting effect on the Hazard game that they will probably lose as well. Then play BC at BC. I see why Bonner had a closed scrimmage/practice and scheduled a weak scrimmage with Breathit Co. I’m sure it was in hopes to give these guys confidence before going into the season.

Why did these ex-Boyd Co kids leave Boyd if it was better?  Serious question.

GC will win this game simply because they are better. Ashland will make some noise when the football players get healed up and get in basketball shape. That will take some time. If these two teams were to play a couple months from now I believe GC would still be the better team but Ashland would be close enough to get a win on a given day.

On a side note, I don't get to spend as much time on here as I would like but when I do get to view a topic or two one thing you can count on when viewing an Ashland basketball thread is the pseudo BC bench coach trolling everything concerning Ashland basketball. So predictable it's sad to the point of being comical.

Oh Billy you are so emotional. We all know who is your daddy. You just get upset that you get called out on your BS. I do know this from reading all these threads. That man lives in the Ashland faithfuls head rent free. You all calling Spurlock Daddy. Do you all actually walk up to him and call him daddy when you see him. ?

You might want to read the community guidelines on this board when your cursing and guessing who I am.

GC by 20+ tonight! You will be calling them daddy when the games over.

Great Crossing 41
Ashland 40
Halftime
Great Crossing lead by as many as 12 but Ashland scored the last 11 of the 2nd quarter after Moreno picked up his 2nd foul. It’s been a good game so far.

Great Crossing 53

Ashland 55

3:07 left in the 3rd quarter.
Quote

End of the 3rd quarter Great Crossing 59 Ashland 58.

Great Crossing 69

Ashland 62

4:53 to play

Tied at 71 with 2:34 to play.

76-73 Ashland with :55.2 to play and it’s Ashland’s ball.

Overtime Great Crossing gets a 3 at the buzzer by Burrell to tie it at 81

91-89 Great Crossing with :40.8 left in OT

93-89 Great Crossing with :36.1 to play.

Final a good game.

Everyone saying this was going to be a blowout, Without Jennings and Davis and Neel Ineligible they take the best team in the state to overtime and could’ve won if GC’s point guard didn’t hit a buzzer beating 3 to tie it. Ashland is Legit like i’ve said. Jerry Wya?

Jerry Buddy, Your Lions barely beat one of the worst teams in the 16th region and your boy only had 16, don’t look good for you or your team. It’s okay tho, all that matters is winning regular season games against Ashland and then choking in the region tournament. You’re a clown.

I bet it’s hard to sleep when you can hardly beat Lewis County at your own place

And Jerry I don’t wanna hear a damn thing about Moral Victories, After going 0-2 and losing to Adair and GC in preseason you would’ve thought the Boyd County Lions won the State Tournament. Congrats on your 7 Point win to Lewis!

If you two want to continue this Freudian "anal" hang up don't bring kids into it. If Ashland doesn't win the 16th Region I'll be pulling for whoever does, including Boyd County. Is this guy an idiot and a troll? Sure he is, doesn't matter. But...if you have to bring a kid's individual stats into your argument to try to score points you need to find another forum. Also, Lewis County is a fine program with some quality kids and will do well this year, no need try to score points at their cost. This fruitcake gets on everyone's nerves and spouts stupid stuff every time he opens his mouth. He is totally fixated on Ashland to the point of mental illness. That being said, if you have to go low by degrading kids and programs to score points in your argument you should just let it go.

APB daddies all tore up in this forum. LOL.. You are still acting like you did something last night. You lost regardless of if it was by 5 or 25. It counts for a Loss. You seem as if you have some fetish towards Jerry Buddy and love calling him daddy, seek professional help, it is unhealthy. To compare the GC vs APG and BC vs GC game. Both lost. BC by 4 and APB by 5. We won't have to wait long as I see BC vs APB is scheduled for next Tuesday. It looks like what I said before. You are 0-1 now and probably will be 0-3 by Tuesday. Possible first win vs Fairview coming the following game. I would be safe to say. 1-4 when you play your next game vs the OH team in the Shawnee tourney. That is just an honest assessment of the upcoming games. I know it is hard for you to keep within the guidelines of name calling on here but if you have that kind of hate towards that guy. Just go tell him to his face. Let me know when that happens, I would like to see how that works out for you. lol

Legit? You lost lil Billie. Oh wait moral victory!  lol. You are now 0-1. If or woulda or coulda adam.  ?
Jerry Buddy, Your Lions barely beat one of the worst teams in the 16th region and your boy only had 16, don’t look good for you or your team. It’s okay tho, all that matters is winning regular season games against Ashland and then choking in the region tournament. You’re a clown.

Very well said!  Especially the fruitcake reference!  lol.

They will have to play better defense and add some depth to survive the region this year.

Once Ashland gets all their roster intact they should handle the 16th fairly easily. To go on the road and play a team of Great Crossing caliber to an overtime loss (and it took a desperation shot in regulation at the horn to put it in OT) without a complete roster is speaking volumes about the Tomcats.
