Highlands vs Cooper. Thoughts?

This should be a good one!  Highlands lost by three in the first matchup , a game many thought Highlands played better and should have won but questioned some of the coaching calls. Highlands QB play is a ton better now than when they played Copper early in the year ( many, myself included were calling for a QB change then, not now, Rio is playing very well!). I am sure Cooper is playing better in areas now too. I think we see a high scoring game. Highlands can’t come out with a slow start with penalties and giving Cooper short field like they have the last two weeks. I think this game comes down to which teams defense steps up and makes some big stops. Hard to call this one, Highlands out coached in the last two games against Cooper so I think you have to give Cooper the edge but not by much.

Highlands is able to contain the studs cooper has decently, but as I watched the game they played earlier this season I thought cooper didn’t capitalize at all on highlands mistakes and on top of that i believe cooper is the best team in the state still alive, and will go onto to Kroger and beat BG or South Warren in their final 5A game….for now.

i do think it’ll be a close game for 3 Quarters with cooper breaking away towards the end with a turnover and a couple quick scores. NKY had a great year! We’ll see what they’ll be able to get together next season with many players leaving and highlands leaving 5A as well.

I am not sure he is playing head and shoulders better because the competition at the end of the season was not the same. But he is playing better overall.
For HHS, it is feast or famine in their passing game, throw bubble screens or throw 30-40 yard deep balls.

I think HHS is at their best when they try to ground and pound, then mix in the pass. They struggle when the OC keeps trying to hit home runs on every play early in the game.

The last game started of with the opening KO return for a Cooper TD. Obviously, in a 3 point game last match-up, special teams was a major factor. How have the teams looked on special teams recently?

I think it is a big concern that Highlands is down three Defensive starters for this game! Two linebackers and a D-Linemen!
