i think it would actually help alot of squads
02-22-2005, 11:17 PM
As long as they can lift the cheerleaders, yeah.
02-22-2005, 11:29 PM
I think all squads need atleast one strong guy cheerleader. A guy could help take a lot of the pressure off some of the girls on lifting.
The guys could mainly focus on lifting while the girls focus on cheering, but I dont know much about cheerleading

well, alot of schools in this area dont want to have to compete as a co-ed squad against Belfry because they are known to have phenominal(sp.) male cheerleaders...most schools, or mine at least, at too wimpy to compete with them....pshh!

I think male cheerleaders would help out any squad mainly because it'll give them more people and while the guys lift the other girls that would normally lift could flip or whatever. I know at my school however, we wouldn't have any guys go out because of all the discrimination against them and plus we're lucky to have enough girls to go out for cheerleading.

Well at Belfry, The male cheerleaders are from the football team. They are definitely not discriminated against. I think it's a great addition to any squad to have them.
02-23-2005, 12:04 PM
if their strong enough... sure... but no weak people
02-23-2005, 12:24 PM
Males on cheerleading squads are a lot of help. From a past experience they help a lot. They are usually pretty strong and good at tumbling, which diffinately helps.

yeah male cheerleaders are a good thing. They can help the squad out tons if they are strong and take gymnastics. I know that Belfry has some good male cheerleaders. In jr.high this season I saw that Elkhorn City had a couple.

i like the addition to male cheerleaders to a cheerleading squan it makes stunts a whole lot better

If a dude wants to cheer, then let him cheer.

i could see a man telling his grand kids in 30 years " I was the best cheerleader in the school. thats not cool but if he tells them i was the best running back around. now thats cool. IMO

you have a great point. i got a back injury my junior year from lifting. i was a base at the time. it would have been nice to have a strong guy to do it instead of me. haha

But what if he could tell his grand kids he was on a state championship football team and oh yeah the cheerleading squad in which he also participated in finished second in state..impressive no matter who you are....
I guarantee you that not one of our male cheerleaders would say that they regretted cheering.

Belfry has some good male cheerleaders. those big burly guys throwin up those girls all the while looking up their skirts. Thats OK in my book
But when I see a 110lb girly man doin cartwheels and what have ya it just aint cool..i'd say those guys get a lot of crap from everyone else in that school. When ya look at all the cheerleaders in a squad and it takes you 15 minutes to realize a guy is mixed in there, I just dont care too much for that

Usually the smaller guys are the ones who have been taking tumbling and gymnastics classes their whole lives. Guys arent just for throwing girls up in the air. A guy with good tumbling skills can be a great asset!
I know a guy from eastern KY that cheers for an all-star squad in lexington and is going to be in a cheerleading movie soon!! i dont think he is catching any grief for that!

Come on Samuel L. Jackson is the coolest man on the planet and he can tell his grandkids that he cheered. So can George W. Bush, Micheal and Kirk Douglas, Steve Martin, and Tommy Lee Jones.

Nothing wrong w/it!

Well male cheerleaders get a good work out and get to hang out with the female cheerleaders for hours at a time, at practice games, competitions, who is really the "gay" (don't mean anythign bad by this) one here. Not to mention all of the physical enduarnce they will gain from this, lifting the females and throwing them up in the air and maintaining them in thier mounts.

Must male cheerleaders and pretty strong........I think its something good for football players who dont play basketball to cheer, helps them keep in shap and increases strenght......And all I have to say to guys who think that guys shouldnt cheer is to just go to a co-ed practice and you'll see for yourself. I mean whats worse taking a shower with several naked guys or hanging out and touching girls....So rock on guys, rock on
02-11-2006, 03:05 AM
don't care much for it but if they want to let them
