Ashland Blazer at Corbin 11/22

Ashland Blazer at Corbin. Thoughts?
#2
Corbin by 21. They are really clicking on offense and starting to round the defense into better shape.
#3
Gotta go with Corbin by a score or two. Their defense has been suspect though and Ashland has been pretty explosive all year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Tomcats take it down to the wire or even pull the upset. This game could be another shootout for Corbin though.

What the KHSAA has done to Meadors this year is criminal, is there ever one single time they doing anything with what’s best for the kid in mind? I’ve not seen Ashland play, but they always seem to have some athletes, our defense has got to show some progress imo but I see my boys in red and silver celebrating again this week

Btw how bout them 8th grade Hounds Miiddle School State Champions

It is laughable; isn’t it?!

Corbin by a touchdown or less, but it wouldn't shock me if the Tomcats pull out the win.
#8
If this past Friday hadn't happened and the Tomcats were playing at home I would give them a chance. Their secondary took a step back against Mason County. Blown coverages, confusion, just out of sorts way too often. A lot to fix in a week and they do have a lot of material to use in the film room...but... there is just too much to deal with and too little time to patch it up. Offense wins games, and they've won a lot of games. Defense wins championships so their run ends in Corbin. Break out the Chuck Taylors. I hope I'm wrong.

It doesn’t matter to me if you believe me or not but the way I look at it is this…The Smith twins got eligible and probably shouldn’t have would I have been happy if they hadn’t probably not but I would have understood…That being said they’re from a good stable family and their Dad is gonna make sure they do what they’re supposed to whether they played football and got scholarships or not….Meadors is a different story he doesn’t have that stable family, he needs football, he needs the scholarship, he needs the help….That’s my problem with all this I love Corbin and I want to win but I can’t say I wouldn’t want the kid to get the same opportunities if he was playing somewhere else he’s a good kid he deserves it….

I don’t know his back story, but it seems like staying at his old school and playing would’ve been the better move. Corbin selling their soul to get the Smith twins cleared probably cost them in this one.

I will be pulling for Ashland, but I expect Corbin to win. Ashland has a good running offense, but it does not compare to Johnson Central's rushing offense when McCoart and the rest of the backfield was healthy. Ashland has an excellent passing offense, but it does not compare to Corbin's passing game. Corbin's defense will get enough stops to beat Ashland, which will struggle to stop Elam. The game should be competitive early, but the Redhounds will steadily pull away for the win.

Give me Corbin because of Elam, Cima, and Estep. I don’t trust either of the defenses here but I trust Corbin’s offense to win a shootout.

Corbin by a couple of touchdowns
#14
it is at Corbin so it is already 14-0 lol all jokes aside I think Corbin wins by two scores!!
#15
Rooting for Corbin this week for obvious reasons :)
#16
I think their only common opponent was JC which both won in a shootout. This game is probably going to be high scoring with the Defense that can get the most stops the winner. Give me Ashland 45-42!!

This is the game I'm most looking forward to this week.  I'm somewhat familiar with both these teams.  Should be a good one.

I'd really like to know of a live stream for this one.  Definitely would like to watch it.

https://t1073.com/ This is where you can watch the game. I like watching with these guys. But thats just me. It is a pay per view. 10.00. To me, Corbin needs to step up to the plate like Boyle County does and have sponsors donate and make this game free for everyone to watch. Lots of old people who can't get out that would love to see the game.

Ashland is not winning this game for the reasons I mentioned earlier. I understand you always want to win but this is one situation where it doesn't matter as much. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a Tomcat victory but... Ashland and Corbin are not rivals and the reward for winning is a thrashing at Boyle County the following week. Ashland has been here many times so whether you're the third, fourth, or fifth best team really doesn't matter that much. I don't know Corbin's history but from their persistent chatter on every football thread in existence I assume they've won multiple state championships in multiple weight divisions so I would guess it's the same for them. I'm speaking this from a fan's perspective on the outside looking in, not a player. As a player or coach of course you should want to win and make it as far as you can, even if it means a beat down.

I will mention that Corbin didn't have Malachi Brown against JC and he has helped beef up the line considerably. he wasn't cleared to play until the week after the JC game. I do still expect it to be a tough game that will have to be earned.

also, Corbin Middle beat out both Boyle in the semi's and Paducah Tilghman in the Championship game this year. that team was led by another Estep playing QB and lots of familiar last names on this team for those that follow Corbin. the future looks bright for the Hounds with this next crop.

FYI, if you read the KHSAA rules if a parent is active military it removes TONS of red tape on transfers. the Smiths father is active Marines.

My sister came down from Richmond for the show. We are big REO fans from back in the day.  Where did you eat your BBQ... Bubby's, Smokey Bears, or did my cousin smoke some pig's hind end for you? Btw, that would have been the perfect opportunity for you to bring me a Boyle T-Shirt. Smile

OMG, I love you!  Yes, I love large or extra large shirts. I will wear it proudly right along with my Corbin attire, once the season ends for the Hounds. I really like this Boyle team because seldom do we get to see one of the nation's best teams hailing from the Bluegrass. They have really represented . I'm proud of those boys. I'd love to see my Hounds pull the upset . I'd also like to be snuggled up next to Taylor Swift, but neither of those things are happening. Smile

I wish I had known you were coming. I would have bought your dinner. I'm just down the road from Sonnys.
