Boyle County 38 Frederick Douglass 17

A good win for the Rebels they are definitely headed to another 4A title. The Broncos had too many turnovers to beat a team like Boyle. This was a good game for the Broncos heading into 6A playoffs and I think they have as good a shot as probably 4 or 5 teams. Congratulations to Boyle!

Good game. Both teams seemed to make mistakes that cost them possible points. Good luck in playoffs to both teams

It is now a different world for high school football. After the game Quisenberry and Chenault both got paid $250 dollars each for being named players of the game. lol
#4
Congratulations to both teams. These are two great programs that have bright futures to look forward to.

The game wasn't as close as the score.

That being said, FD has a nice offense and Boyle looked a bit shaky on defense.

On the offensive side of the ball, Boyle looked like a different team than how they've played all year. Quisenberry played QB a lot and was actually under center - not shotgun - quite a bit.

D. Brown had a ton of yards rushing for Boyle and I'm sure the Rebels dominated the stats.

FD is poorly coached and rely on having more talent than the other team.

Tough to rely on that against Boyle, they coach circles around McFraud.

FD is not poorly coached. I think McPeek is fine. Boyle is just that much better than anyone else.

FD averages 30 ppg. Held to 17 tonight. Only 60 something yards rushing. If that’s shaky then I think Boyle will be fine defensively.

Not if they call JG Wentworth.

Per advocate messenger twitter Demauriah Brown had 204 yards rushing 1TD. Montavin Quisenberry had 134 yards 1Td. Brown also had a INT. Boyle did have some breakdowns in the secondary. FD completed some long 3rd down catches on Boyle. If you wanna beat Boyle it has to be in the air, running the ball ain't happening.

I should have been more specific. I meant they looked shaky against the pass.

Penalties are still an issue for Boyle. They had a 5 yard penalty when they had the ball first and goal from one foot out. But with as strong of a team as Boyle has, that probably just affects the margin of victory.

100% agree. They rely on talented transfer portal kids and fudged address. Great players, but coaches are just mediocre. .

There hasn’t been a team with as many D1 players than FD. If you have more talent and still find ways to lose, it’s the coaching. Especially their time in 5a when they had a team with Dane Key, Dekel Crowdus, Jager Burton, Walker Parks, Ty Bryant and more that went some type of D1.

Is McPeek turning into John Calipari? More focused on getting kids to the next level more and promoting that aspect of his program. There is no reason why they shouldn’t have more than one state championship especially while they were in 5A with the names listed above.

Boyle could probably put a running clock on a team like Corbin and JC if they really want to

They would put a running clock on an all-star team made up of the very best players from Corbin and Johnson Central.  Corbin or JC, whichever is unfortunate enough to face the Rebs,  will lose to Boyle by 40+ points if that game happens.

I’m glad Quisenberry was able to play through the gruesome injuries that everyone on here was talking about. Kudos to him.

^ this. Ha ha. I love it when people act like they are in the know, or know more and spread fake news. I was reading that type garbage all last week about how he was hurt. I’m like no, he has just played 1 qtr of all the games I’ve seen him play besides LC and St Ed’s.

If you had watched, you would have seen he was nursing some sort of injury. At this point, I assume it was an ankle and that it's healed to near 100% by now. I didn't notice it in the Frederick Douglass game. But he was clearly limping in the last 2-3 games and the game before FD, he was in the game for a total of about 8 plays. He didn't even play defense.

That's crazy in one week he was able to come back from such a bad injury and play every single snap of a game against a top ten team in the state. It's almost like he didn't play a lot in the Wayne County game because they won 55-0.

I went to and watched Frederick Douglass and Boyle in person. Tuff football game especially in the first half. It was two heavy weights throwing haymakers. But as for injuries. Q looked like the player he always is. I thought Brown looked like a machine hitting the middle and just making waves of yards. I had to ask after the game how many yards this kid. He was making tuff runs and giving FD defense fits. Frederick Douglass didn't disappoint though, they bring it every game I have ever watched them, you know what you're getting at a FD game, a hard fought one. I think this game shows why most will have Boyle as the overall number 1 team in the state. Lots of big-time players on that field for both teams and UK was there looking at players from both sides. FD plays the best teams in Kentucky. Fact.

Nobody said it was a bad injury that he came back from in one week. You're making that up. He likely had some kind of ankle sprain that limited him for a few weeks.

You were one of the experts on here that was saying he should sit out because he wasn’t 100% etc etc. Just keep it up with your takes, you’re killing it so far.

This win gives Haddix his 3rd. undefeated regular season out of 5.  4 for 4 on State Titles and going for 5 for 5.  Has a 63-3 record at Boyle with a 95.45% winning percentage and a 20-0 playoff record (100%).  Can't do much better than that!
