Letcher Central 52 Perry Central 7
#1
From the score you can gather not much is to be said about this game, but I’m going to say more than I probably should.

First off, I’m really impressed by the composure of Letcher Central. They could have easily been baited into the nonsense that happened after every whistle but they stayed within themselves and let Perry beat themselves. Even when things seemed like it was meaningless the kids were out there forcing turnovers and playing hard. Can’t say enough about how much they impressed me.

Now, for where I make people upset. I was there in 2000 with Perry went 0-10. I dealt with Rockcastle and Larkey demoralizing the Commodores by 60+ points. I was there for some beatdowns from the Blackbears and watched a lot of self-inflicted losses, but I’ve never been ashamed to be a Commodore until tonight. The kids are just kids but tonight discipline was just an all-time low. The coaching staff chirping with people in the crowd. Fans fighting amongst themselves and getting thrown out. The administration wasn’t even exempt from showing themselves tonight. This is without a doubt the darkest day in the history of the program and I say that without hesitation.

I saw this last season at Corbin. The Perry kids played hard but not disciplined . The coaches raised hell all night with officials until one or two of them was escorted off the premises by the cops. The one coach acted like he want to fist fight the official. A couple of Perry fans were fighting in the stands with someone. Cops had to be called. Just terrible. It didn't just start tonight. It's obviously been a problem for awhile. It starts with the people that's leading these kids. A cleansing of these adults from the program needs to take place.

Again, tonight was just a culmination of what's been going on for awhile. Definitely a black eye on Perry Central. And now they get Corbin coming in next. The Hounds need to take care of business early and get out of there. Don't get suckered into retaliating against this thug-like behavior that the coaches have set in motion. Can't afford to lose players for the Pulaski game.

Coaches and admin are just as bad
#8
Oh the people on BSN said, that PCC had a player eject. If that is true, how many did Perry had eject.
#9
Perry had one player ejected. Pratt, the lineman.

Let me say this about Letcher. While they were well overmatched at Corbin last week, their kids played hard up until the final horn. They held their own with Corbin in the second half. They played good, hard-nosed , clean football. They exhibited great resolve, toughness, and high character. I don't know their coaches but they have them going in the right direction. Congrats to Letcher. Whitley County has a tough task playing at Whitesburg next week.

Embarrassing night

Can’t say I didn’t warned you all at beginning of the season.
#13
Perry better be looking at their staff and making some big time changes. That program is in shambles right now.
#14
Finally glad those kids at Letcher are finally putting there D-line on the ground.

The Cougars were definitely hitting on all cylinders tonight. Probably the most complete game they have played this year. I loved the play calling tonight. I agree with some of the other posters that was embarrassing for Perry not the outcome of the game as much as the all the personal fouls after the whistle. I really don’t know what they was trying to accomplish with that behavior. Now Letcher has a huge game at home next week vs Whitley with a home playoff game on the line.

I heard big #40 combs quit tonight for perry. Anyone know if that’s true?

 Very undisciplined.

Correct me if you think I'm wrong but I believe the game at Corbin last week did wonders for LCC. After being down 28-0 at halftime, they played Corbin to a 0-0 stalemate in the third quarter(and it wasn't a fluke) and just allowed one fourth quarter score to the Hounds. I think the Cougars gained some confidence in that second half performance against Corbin and it carried over , big time, in this week's game against PCC. Sometimes, you can learn a lot of things about yourself in a loss against a strong opponent and I think the Letcher kids did just that. Good for them!!!   Like

I watched the game on D&D and that's all you heard was some woman in the stands cussing the refs. And hollering at letcher telling them to get the F''k out of there!! Now what kind of nonsense goes on at that program!!!
If it's true about big #40 I wish he'd make his way northeast into Lawrence county!
I got an apartment with his name all over it for the remainder of the season! ?

Sure would like to have Combs across town at Hazard. He’s a difference maker. Perry has two of the better backs in the area and wants to throw the ball. Don’t take this wrong but the Johnson kid isn’t a good fit for QB what I’ve saw from him. If Combs is done and they don’t utilize Gibson and they let Johnson try to throw, it’ll be a disaster. Come on over to the blue and gold 4-0. We’ll treat you good there.

And I thought you was a Perry guy all this time Gunslinger. I think Colin is a Senior and if he isn’t, going across town would make a lot of sense.

The cougars have played good football for the last 3 games going back to Breathitt Co game and yes I consider a 35-0 loss to Corbin playing good with the fire power Corbin has. I definitely think they gained some confidence the 2nd half of the Corbin game.

Im not exactly sure how you came up with that. I went to Hazard and so did my kids. I’ve got family at Perry and I support them but I’m a dawg through and through. I like to see all kids succeed but I also know when things aren’t right too. Perry’s got a lot of problems. Take Combs off that team and they’re in trouble with the way their line blocks and their terrible play calling.

People can blame defense, or coaches, and I’ve heard people blame the young QB,, but I go back to beginning of the year and yea I’m gonna say “ I told you so” but without the deep threat for the QB , Perry will struggle throwing the ball this year, we have a stud running back in combs, and the Gibson kid is gonna be special, but we can’t throw the ball enough to make teams honor it, so they load the box, now if anyone can say I was wrong and that Kilburn wouldn’t have made huge difference on this team then I just don’t know what to say.. Add Kilburn and we are 7-1 at the worse right now, our coaches , defense, line, run game is great and we didn’t take a huge step back at the QB position from past seasons in my opinion, but there has to be that deep threat.

Jet Fighter you are pathetic. If this, if that. if if if if if. Makes me want to laugh myself almost to death.

I was told today a lot of the bad turmoil is on the Oc and play calling and that change is coming. Any truth?
