I was just wondering the same thing the other day. 

Also what if the playoffs were set up like basketball.  The winner of each region enters like a sweet 16 playoff for the state championship.

Playoffs would be a lot more interesting with possibly more upsets but powerhouses in Louisville/lexington areas would still win like basketball
