I think Belfry is sitting pretty at that 3 spot. CAL is not as dominant as it has been and has lost to LCA this year. I think Belfry has a real shot at getting back to Kroger and winning another state title.

Are these ranking just what you think or are these the current RPI rankings?

We have a committee of BGR members who are assigned to each class. I don't ask the BGR member how they determine the ranking, but I also keep them anonymous. If a member doesn't get back with me, then I put my own ranking in that class. Now, I do put my own Top 25 ranking, and I do that by myself, I fix hot coffee, and while I'm chugging coffee I consider what I saw the week before and what I think the week after so of course, mine aint gonna matchup with most but its all in fun anyways.

Thanks I was just curious. I thought this list looked pretty good myself. Looking forward to this last stretch. I think other than maybe one class it is going to be a more competitive playoffs than we have seen recently. Not as many clear cuts as their has been. Which imo makes it a lot more fun to watch come playoff time.

The game between Lawrence and Belfry is going to be a dandy. Too bad it ends this year because Lawrence is going to be very good next year!

Imo it could be a real high score. The bulldogs is going to have to find some defense against a good run game since we are down a couple key players!
I only say this because the dawgs hasn't played a team like belfry this year and the pirates have played multiple harder games. Instead of our team saying we play belfry they outta say Belfry plays us!! And go into the game next week with that exact mentality
#7
In order for next week to matter, both teams have to win this week. Anyone can beat anybody on any given night and I think that’s the mentality these teams should have.
#8
We all have our outlooks, which i do agree with you. Along with any game against belfry should matter for us, for this year anyway!! These big games are won in the trenches. I'm sure the coaches are fixing something up for this district lineup

I think Lawrence has some work to do before they stay in the game with Belfry. Belfry is improved from the last few seasons in my opinion. And Lawrence giving up 34 points to Shelby Valley and 49 to Perry Central. I don't know the injury situation or anything like that which could play a part but I think Belfry is playing good football right now and had a shot to beat Johnson Central. I just like the way Belfry is playing and I think they are improving at a fast rate.
#10
You’re right, Belfry is playing very good football right now. Both teams have to take care of business Friday night for that game to matter. I think both coaches know that. Good luck to all teams Friday!

Perry only scored 35

They did only score 35, but his point is valid. Belfry is playing very good football right now and their competition has been tougher than that of LC.
#13
Exactly just like I said earlier, Belfry will be the hardest competition to date! When your playing great football against really really good teams, it says alot. Anything can happen tho. So we shall see when the time arrives.
Just excites me that it's played at Luke Varney this year!!

That's my bad I was looking at a different score.

I really like Belfry's chances of winning another title. They are young, talented, and well coached. If the team avoids major injuries, they are going to be a very tough out come playoff time.

I like aggravating you Hoot. I will be pulling for Belfry myself. I watched their film, and I like what I see. I have always been a fan of mountain football. Belfry is definitely a great representative for all of us down this way. I was at the last championship in person when they battled and won against Paducah Tilghman.

At one time, Belfry was probably Johnson Central's most hated rival, with the possible exception of Paintsville. After Jim Matney, a Belfry grad, became JC's coach, the relationship seemed to evolve into a friendly rivalry between two programs having mutual respect for each other. I always pull for Belfry when they are not playing Johnson Central. The teams have a similar philosophy of striving to keep things simple while striving for perfect execution.

It's good to have ya back Hoot!! Your knowledge was never forgotten

This is a 3A ranking thread and all I see is LC talking about Belfry. Sounds like Belfry lives rent free in LC’s mind.
#21
Belfry is going to thrash Lawrence Co on their home field. Take it to the bank.
#22
Lives rent free in the heads of Lawrence County? Thats original! I have nothing but respect for Belfry. I know some good guys from there that we talk during these games in between radio broadcasts. They play their brand of football and so does Lawrence. One game at a time, no one is even thinking about next week yet.

Don’t know why your saying that when grc would put a running clock on lc in the first half

Not all of us Bulldog fans are like that, I’m sorry. We know how good Belfry is and we respect that.

Just messing with jet, not you lol. Belfry has earned the respect from my side this year. Lc has a long way to go before we play against a top teir team such as them. I'm sure coach is drawing something up to atleast keep the boys in the game tho. Hope they keep them on the schedule for years to come since belfry is parting ways with 3A
