The one in Connecticut, where coaches can't run up the score, I'm glad that isn't here, because I don't see why Shelby Valley put up 79 on Phelps tonight, they had 35 in the first half, what was the thinking behind this, what message were they trying to send?

I dont know. But the competition is going to get tougher.. There will be none of this when they play Belfry.

Very true Torqque, maybe just incase it comes down to a tie and they get in by how many points they score, they were going ahead and setting the margin right now. lol.

Ya. they may have.. but what does it prove. I always heard, what goes around comes around. Sounds like phelps is way down this year.. Nothing against SV for playing tough but sometimes you just need to call the dogs off. Thats not the players fault either.. They just do what they are told. But im speculating here. SV my have had their second and third strings in scoring a will?

I'm thinking Valley done this to send Belfry and Prestonsburg and other district teams a message that their serious this year.

I think they should have to bench starters after going up 4 td's.

that they are serious after beating phelps....lol...they need so one like sheldon clark had like lawerce county and maybe it might be a message to the other district players....

The only message recieved is that they are serious about not having any class, plain and simple.

I disagree, Coach Haywood will never run the score up like that.

Phelps isn't even in their district and is a single A school.... SV is a AA school....Why try to prove a point with a single A school when it doesn't even matter??? I bet they won't pull this stuff in their district... especially against Belfry and P-burg!!

I'm pretty sure the ruling is the head coach is suspended for 4 games, you would have to look it up though.

Who cares? Plain and simple. If getting beat that bad really does hurt kids feelings then they don't need to be playing football for crying out loud. You all act like these kids go home and cry about this and never get over it, but they do.
It's competition, plain and simple. There's nothing more lame to me than seeing a team go and take knees or whatever because they are winning so big. Shelby Valley was paired up against Phelps and did what they were supposed to..WIN..
I mean really, how awful is Phelps anyways?(No offense, but it's probably hard not to mangle them like this, much like David School in basketball)
As far as Shelby Valley getting theres when they play Belfry & Pburg, then so be it, because that's football. I don't care who it is, a loss is a loss no matter how bad. I would say this for any team as I did in basketball. This calling off the dogs thing is for Little league and T-ballers not High School kids.
Just my opinion, but it's not that big of a deal to destroy a team. If anything it would make them not want to get beat like that again and try harder next time.
This was this coaches first game at Shelby Valley and I'm sure he just wanted to send a message to the fans and parents that he is here to make a difference, unlike years past.

[/indent]Not one of our prouder moments, but he did run the score up on us. NOT as bad as this one...but still pretty bad, considering it was ER's first year ~Millard or Feds Creek didn't have a football team...heck EC wasn't a good football team~ No excuses though....The Pirates beat us, we sucked it up and got over it.
BTW~I don't want this to sound like I'm taking up for Valley....ROFL....I'm SO not!!! I just can't figure out why anyone would expect anything less from Valley!

i hope Belfry DESTROYS Shelby Valley!!!.cuz i have despised that school since i was little. they have no class wat so ever with wins...
