Pretty solid schedule, obviously looking forward to that week 2 matchup at KC. AFC North has shaped up to be the toughest division in the NFL, MNF matchup at Dallas should be fun as well. @Old School Hound I am just like you, had enough of the Reds a month into the season, ready for Football now!

This is a very manageable schedule, IF Joe Cool is back and healthy. Bengals window to get back to the Super Bowl is still open, even in the minefield that the AFC is right now, they have a very solid roster. And they might be able to avoid their usual slow start this year, as they will definitely be favored in three of the first four weeks.

Looks like he's back...

Joe Burrow threw a 60-yd. dime to Jermaine Burton.

That’s what I’m taking about! And by the way OSH, you and I both loved the Chase Brown draft pick last year, and he was really coming into his own by the end of the season. This year it’s Burton from Alabama, who catches the pass in the clip above, that I thought was a great pick. With Tyler Boyd gone, the Bengals need another reliable receiver, and I think this dude may well be just that.

I loved the Chase Brown pick. Looking for big things from him. Glad to see Mixon move on. I loved the Jordan Battle pick, and you see what he became (#1 ranked rookie DB by PFF, I believe) .  I love the Burton pick . I think he was a steal in the third round. If the OL can stay healthy, especially Trent Brown, we might have the best protection for Burrow since he's been a Bengal.  I thinks Mims is going to be a really, really good tackle. He was a steal also, I believe. Just a freak athlete. And I love Myles Murphy. Got better and better as the season went along. Dude's another freak. Looks bigger than last season. Gonna be an absolute beast!!!  I'm excited. Can you tell???   lol

Oh, me too! The Bengals are no longer the Bungles anymore, especially when it comes to the draft, where they have been about as good as any franchise over the last 5 years or so. Of course, keeping Joe upright and healthy is always going to be the key factor, if we can do that, we should be right in the mix for an AFC title.

Reminded me of another pretty good athlete, who went blonde and then back to dark.

Really nice opening game effort by the boys from the Queen City. Ol' Zac really had 'em ready to play. Bengals now 1-10 opening the season(first two weeks) under Taylor. Reds and Bengals have bums for coached. Conservative playing milktoast bums!!!

And to make matters even more lively, we go to KC next week. So UK and the Bengals will both have the chance to get humiliated by the best teams in their respective worlds on the same weekend. After they both got humiliated by teams that suck on their home fields this weekend. This weekend has almost ruined my fall already. When does basketball start?

Another one I didn't see coming this weekend.  Figured sure Cincinnati would beat NE

Hopefully they bounce back quickly from this. Definitely pulling for Cincinnati to beat Kansas City.

That game was bowling shoe ugly, just about as ugly as the all orange unis they wore. Yeah it was only week 1, but to come out that stale and not get in any sort of rhythm at all? They made the New England defense look like the 85 Bears. Hopefully they can turn things around but sure won't be easy going to KC this weekend. Kind of reminds me of Kentucky football, especially the last 4-5 years, a lot of hype & expectation only to be let down, now more than ever with the drama surrounding Chase & Tee, and Burrow never being healthy. Like someone mentioned above, Kentucky plays Georgia Saturday, and Bengals play Chiefs Sunday. Pour me a strong one now!!

Just to be clear, I wasn’t liking shooting you in the head there OSH, (we will save that for JP???). I was agreeing with you on how this football weekend made me feel. Isn’t it eerie how similar it was between UK and the Bengals? Last weekend, both looked like they’d never even had a practice, just horrible. Then this weekend, against the absolute top team at their respective levels, they both made complete 180’s, both should have won….then both manage to blow it late and break our hearts once again. I’m not watching another football game. Well, until next weekend.

Question for you VH. On the PI call late. Not saying it wasn't PI but do you think there's even a chance in hell that get's called if it was the other way around ? If Burrow had made that throw, do you think the flag would have been thrown ?I say not a chance in hell!!! The league insists that Mahomes gets those , though. Also, have you seen the clips of the blatant holding by the Chiefs on that same 4th and 16 play? We rushed just three guys and two of them were held in obvious fashion. Find those clips and check it out. "No calls" is the easy way to influence a game. Officials can always say they didn't see it.

OSH, I don’t think the Bengals would have gotten that call if the situation was reversed AND the game was in Cincy. Mahomes is the face of the NFL right now, much like Brady was, and the fact that Taylor Swift is in the mix with the Chiefs (and I’m ok with her, just wish she had taken up with Burrow instead of caveman Kelce), sure doesn’t hurt in the eyes of the money whoring NFL. Trey Hendrickson nearly single-handedly won that game, he was getting held on every snap because they couldn’t block him. Non-calls decide games just as much as actual calls do, probably even more so. I still think the Bengals are ok though, they can’t afford a slip the next two weeks against Washington and Carolina. Lose one of those two and it might be lights out.

Typical start by the Bengals. Losing first couple of games and then trying to play catch up the rest of the season

It was PI, no denying it but as early as the contact was, the thrown flag was that much later! I mean the play was over, ball was rolling on the ground and the flag was thrown. I'm no expert, but for example if you have a block/charge call in basketball, gotta make the call immediately, right or wrong you gotta make it, no second guessing or delays. I guess the same for throwing a flag, have to throw it quick!

Not trying to make excuses, but that's what really got me was the delay throwing the flag. I'm not one for moral victories here, pretty well known that the Bengals outplayed the Chiefs in every facet, but still lost. They may have outplayed them, but they didn't make enough plays down the stretch to put the game away. Sucks being in 0-2 hole for the 3rd straight year, and going to be tough to dig out of it.

There's zero doubt at this point that the league influences certain games. The Chiefs and Mahomeboy are certainly the league's favored Son.

What makes them the Bungles? They lost a competitive NFL game.

You guys are acting like the talent is night and day drop off between teams.

Had they lost in a blow out, maybe there is room for concern, they lost a close game. There are going to lose more in the future.

Apparently, you're not familiar with who the BUNGLES are.

The Bengals are an NFL team, but the BUNGLES are a team that will find the most incredible, unbelievable ways to lose a game. Also, losing games that they should be favored to win.

Commanders game being a perfect example, rookie QB who has played well up to that game, but he turned into the greatest QB of all time all of a sudden.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad we finally got off the schnide and got the first win of the season, albeit the Panthers but a win is a win.

If I looked right the Bengals next game is against the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens looked good against the Buffalo Bill's the other night.  I can see the Ravens getting to the AFC title game. I can honestly see them getting past the Chief's and onto the Super Bowl.  Despite what happened in their week one match up. If they continue to play like they did against Buffalo.  I know it's still early in the season.

If Cincinnati can pull it off,  beating the Ravens would be a huge win.

Pretty much a must win for the Bengals after losses to the NE and Washington at home. Gotta have this one.
