Mercer County vs Southwestern. Thoughts?
#2
I am curious to see how Mercer plays in this one. I haven't heard anything about their injured player, but it could impact the rest of their year.
#3
With Baughman out, I think SW rolls.
#4
SW may get lucky in this one since Mercer's key player is injured. Has anyone heard any updates on Baughman?
#5
Southwestern has played some good teams this year but also looks to be struggling a little compared to the last two years. Mercer has a small roster for a 3A team of only about 32 players. Baughman is their most explosive player. Drakeford very explosive as well and has a FBS offer at Safety along with being their QB. If both are out it will be tough for Mercer. If they were both able to play Mercer has a shot but still probably an underdog.

What are the reasons these players are out

Southwestern gets one in the W column. Tough break for Mercer with key injuries, prayers for those kids and a speedy recovery.

Why does Mercer only have 32 players?

Kids not want to play for this coach either?

Southwestern wishbone will get the job done.

Buchanan consistently had 60-70 kids out playing for him his last 3 years.  Not sure where you are coming from with the statement of wanting to play for this coach either?

Mercer is one of those places I just dont think will ever figure it out all the way. SO up and down over the years. I guess you can count the merger year... as figuring it out, but alot of folks know better than that.

I agree with a lot of this. Harrodsburg had a lot of success back in the day with multiple FBS scholarship players but Mercer has not had much team or individual success.  They have never been able to get out of their own way.  Mercer has had two FCS scholarship players since the merger. To my knowledge they have never in the history of the school had an FBS scholarship player.  If wrong please give me the name of the last player to do this.  They have a kid on their roster right now with an FBS offer and they don't play him at the position he is offered at. Can't make it up.

I have heard some bad things about this coaching staff. It's all hear say but could really believe most of it. I was told Craig went to a middle school practice and made the comment ( you only have a bunch of slow white boys) if it's true he needs to go.

I think the Titans win a squeaker 15-12.

My response to this post was that it was incorrect that players didn't want to play for previous coach David Buchanan.  Buchanan consistently had 60-70 players when he was here and current coach now has 32 players.  I don't know the exact reason for the drastic drop in numbers of players playing from previous coach to current coach but you can probably come up with your own presumptions.   Current coach saying kids just don't want to play anymore and not having any accountability for low numbers is probably not the right way to go about it or fix it.

Roles reversed right or wrong is an automatic fire.

I think even with the injuries it is a flip of the coin, I have noticed a lot over the years key players
get injured and they have kids that step it up and fill in really well. I guess I will go with SW, I bet
it is a good game!
