Going to be a fun thread. Pikeville at 22 and Raceland at 25 is ridiculous.

C is for cupcake…it’s good enough for me! It is what it is boys. Poor Rams and Panthers don’t stand a chance if they are ranked that low in the Ridiculous Power Incomprehensible rankings. All these teams will be all fattened up by district play. Meant nothing last year and will mean nothing this year.

Picking my dark horses now for the title game. Raceland and Pikeville

They don't hand out trophies for RPI...

They don't hand out trophies but it plays a huge role. It could have Pikeville and Raceland meet up much earlier opening the door for someone else to make it. Do I think it is the best option, no, but you got to play it in your favor. Of course once district play begins the numbers and spots will change.

Losses are the biggest RPI killer . Well , that , along with that gunman .

That's why Trinity had a lower RPI that Hazard a few seasons ago.

I will post a fun jab at you when I can think of a fun one.

This list makes as much sense as listing the teams in alphabetical order.

It will shake out. Sayre and Campbellsville will be up there 1-2 in some order at the end because of their schedules and they are good teams and will win those games as they should. Hazard has some losses coming, 3-5 depending how they play. Kudos to them for scheduling some tougher games. It will pay off for them. Pikeville and Raceland still have some lumps to take but they also have some chances to leapfrog a bunch of teams and be near the top like last year. Also, RPI doesn’t matter until 3rd round. Semifinals is when it can really hurt. I’m sure some at Campbellsville might like Pikeville over there again and maybe Sayre would like a shot at Raceland again but you gotta be careful what you wish for sometimes.

Can’t all be Sayre and Fairview…

Take a look at this. Hazard at 1-9 to end the regular season still had a better RPI than 11 teams.  There are teams on that will 4-5 wins too.

Bottom line with Raceland & Pikeville's RPI:

1. Raceland & Pikeville's tough schedules pay off during the playoffs.
2. Raceland & Pikeville have to go on the road & whip higher seeded teams on their home field.
3. The those higher seeded teams' kids will be in bed for hours before the Raceland & Pikeville buses get home.
4. Barring any unforeseen events, Raceland & Pikeville will meet again somewhere in the playoffs.
