Boyle Co. enters MaxPreps Top 25 National Rankings at #14
#1

I seem to remember they once flirted with being ranked in the Top 25 or so back in the early 2000s when they had that 47 game winning streak, but definitely never this high.

Never this high but the State Title is what matters and I believe they will stay focused the whole way.

I got laughed at by some clown during the game when I said I believe Boyle was a top 50 team prior Saturday's game. Who's laughing now? Boyle absolutely deserves this ranking. Hell, I'm disappointed they are not in the top 10. They throttled the #12 team in their home pasture. Boyle is for real. No fluke at all about that win.

I wonder if they will end up top 10 if they manage to go undefeated the rest of the year. They won't be playing anyone else ranked nationally (most likely), but some of the teams above them will likely lose, right?

I'm not sure they really deserve Top 10, but then again I was fairly sure they'd get beaten soundly this past weekend. So maybe I don't know anything....which is a strong possibility in a lot of situations.

I think when you look at this Boyle team and their body of work and who they have beaten and that also takes into the account of a Corbin defense last season that had 2 top 150 players on that side of the ball, plus all the other top teams they have faced. I don't know how anyone can say this isn't the best Boyle team to ever take the field. I'm not sure many teams could beat that ST. Edwards team they faced. Because most predictions were Boyle getting blown out and Haddix getting a reality check for scheduling that kind of opponent. Now that they won, they didn't squeak by, they dominated from start to finish and if they would have gotten some flags, the St Edwards team probably wouldn't have scored the last score in the first half, I was standing up screaming when I saw the holds and especially that missed pass interference right in front of the Boyle sideline when the defensive player hit the receiver way before the ball got their in an earlier drive by Boyle and no flagggggg. I was hot lol. Boyle held that powerhouse scoreless in the second half. Thats impressive. So no doubt, this Boyle team will be one to remember and with Kentucky Mr. Football playing on it as well. When you think of Mr. Football, Quisenberry defines all checkmarks. I call that a checkmate. So I think Boyle is a top 10 team in the nation myself.

Agreed with all said. One of my biggest concerns that I mentioned before the game when bragging about the announcers was the questionable officiating from the previous week. Much lopsided like this one and they certainly missed a lot of obvious calls against St. Ed.

What did the 2002 team get to before they lost? I was in high school at the time and I felt like I remembered them being around 10 or 11, but I've been known to misremember a lot from that period.

I'm not really sure. I'm not even sure if it was the 2002 team or one one of the other years right around then. But in my mind they maybe got just barely inside the Top 25. Like maybe actually number 25 and no higher.

I am happy for Boyle County but do you honestly think they are better than top programs in Texas, Florida, California, and Georgia? I just don’t think so. Some of those schools have numbers 10x higher than Boyles to choose from. Boyle may be that good. Hope they are. I am very proud of them.

I'm interested in seeing if they crack the USA TODAY Top 25. That's the prestigious one. Anyone know when that one comes out?
#11
Congratulations to Boyle very well deserved if not a higher ranking as some have said
#12
I remember Boyle was ranked number 16 in the country the year we traveled up in eastern KY to maybe Prestonsburg to a bowl game sponsored by some restaurant. We arrived early and went into a large open sided tent to eat at the football field. I remember the locals saying the there was no way that Boyle was that good. Then Boyle pulled in in those big black shiny buses and the locals' mouths fell open. If I remember correctly Boyle won by about 50 to 60 points. I remember the ranking but the school and score evade me.

The last one came out on the 3rd, so I would assume the next one will be the 10th.

Cleveland just has about 3.5 million people. And this school gets the cream of the crop in that area.   That’s 200x what Boyle has to choose from.

no idea if Boyle deserves top 10. But why not?  They just beat a 6a power from Ohio!

If you are asking me, I do think Boyle is better than advertised. I have went and watched this team in person many times over the last 5 years. Since Corbin politics stuck their heads in the sand and let him leave to go coach Boyle. I'll not get into all that. But its a fact. Now, The eyes who sees every team in the entire nation, you know, the guys who go watch them all and talk to put out rankings. They apparently think that ST Edwards was right there. Then now, why in the world wouldn't they put Boyle ahead of ST. Edwards, they didnt scoop up a fumble on a wet field and got lucky and won by a single point. Boyle County dominated that game from start to finish. Beat the Refs who obviously if you watched the game, did not throw obvious flags. I mean the worst officiated game in some parts of it, I have ever seen, I honestly would like to sit in a room with the film pause the video and educate these guys and explain why they need to not be biased and then suspend the ones who intentionally looked the other way. It's all on film. Then, lets be real, Boyle probabably would have won by a score of 38-14, the last touchdown was also aided with the no calls. Anyways, that score didn't matter, Boyle almost doubled a top 12 Nationally ranked team who is the uno, number 1 o team in OHIO. Now, then you ask well who in the world would put Boyle up there with the best. Maybe because Boyle is the best right now and they are proving it over a span of 4 years in a row and most likely a 5th year. Dude, Boyle is whipping people. Why, they are for real...

Yes, Boyle may and probably is good enough to play with any team in America. Could on any give day beat all them. You can only put 11 out there at a time. It amazes me how well Coach Haddix does. Best coach in KY. Boyle better enjoy him while they can, he will be coaching at a D1 college before long if he wants to pursue it.

Untelling how many good teams in the country that should be on the list simply never make it because of their schedule.
There’s absolutely zero way to correctly rank high school teams nationally.

Man, I love this!!!!  One of the nation's best teams right in my back yard. I'm a Corbin fan, first and foremost, but what these Boyle kids are doing is something special and should be recognized as such. And they damn sure deserve their ranking!!!

Reb, you find me a shirt and I'll find a way to come get it. I'll go further than that. You find me a Boyle shirt and I will wear it at Campbell Field , along with my Redhound jacket. Very proud of both of these teams. Corbin and Boyle have been two of the state's best the past two seasons and now Boyle is one of the nation's best. They were 1, 2 in the state polls last season  and here they are both top 5 again and Boyle with national recognition.  Damn right, I'll proudly wear both!!!  Want to  showcase just what kind of ball we play in this part of the country.
