This game was strange…but good to watch. I felt we was about to put it away several times and win by a couple scores then bam…..something would happen and it felt like we was gonna lose haha. It was a good competitive game. The refs were very bad. Before a LCC fan gets on here and states that they got screwed….not really. The refs were just bad. I don’t think they were competent to be able to screw a team from winning. I believe the Rams had two touchdowns called back on their final drive.

Raceland had more penalties and penalty yards. 2 holds (were legit) brought back two TDs. They didn’t really affect the play but were holds none the less. If those holds don’t happen…it’s a 3 score game. Stiltner finished with 23 carries for 169 and 2 TDs. Very impressed with his ability to handle that many rushes. Marushi and Ison ran well tonight as well.

That’s not how things work here. You have to be able to show up and show out. Practice or Game it doesn’t matter. He did not look very good in 7v7 and in scrimmages. Awesome kid and a great work ethic and team first kid. But he did not look the part at QB.

Personally I wanted Cooper to come in and be the guy. I didn’t want to lose Ison at WR and DB. But atleast through the preseason, Ison looked like the best option. Waller throws a better ball, but doesn’t possess the same physical abilities that Ison does. I think by seasons end we will see all 3 of them getting snaps. Ison and Cooper give you more of a wildcat or dual threat QB. While Waller is more of a traditional pocket QB. I’ve really liked Cooper since day 1. Kid has a great attitude and works his ass off. He just didn’t pass the test to get the starting QB spot.

I remember those days when Ram fans acted super salty about Fairview's transfers. Even remember Raceland's team running through a huge banner saying "Welcome to Huntington West Campus" or something like that. They definitely sing a different tune these days

You are kidding right? What we are doing and what the West wild beagles were doing is daylight and dark dude! We don’t have an apartment complex we are putting kids in and we aren’t sending vans to Huntington to pick kids up and drop off from school either. We don’t recruit. And if we start we will be getting kids from the Huntington/columbus/Cincinnati area. Not the hotbed of football that is Lewis county. We would be getting kids good enough to beat Pikeville. The difference between the Pikeville area and this area is that up there the good players will go where they know they can win. Down here people hate us to much to transfer here to win a state title. Face it…..if you are at Ashland you ain’t winning ? because of Boyle and Corbin and Cov cath. Unless you fudge your student numbers and get put back in 3A again. Boyd co Russell and Greenup all have the same problem. So if I’m worth a shit I’m going to Raceland. If that makes any of you mad I don’t care. But to compare us to the scareview eaglets is just plain stupid.

The real best option for football in this area would be to figure out how to live in Ohio and send your kid to Ironton.
