Pulaski County vs Beechwood (Pigskin Classic in Corbin) 8/23
#1
Pulaski County vs Beechwood. Thoughts?
#2
Beechwood is a contender in Class 2A this year. They are for real. I love watching a game at Beechwood as it is all about football and tradition. But in saying that, it is hard to come out of Beechwood with a win, they get after it up there. Pulaski is no doubt looking to make some noise early. With a new coach and lots of excitement for this season. This will be a good game.

The Beechwood and Pulaski game is actually the first game of the Pigskin Classic in Corbin This upcoming Friday. This year's Pigskin is loaded with Beechwood, Pulaski, Corbin, and Pikeville.

I will have to change my prediction slightly. Beechwood will be on the road but I think they will take care of business in Corbin.

Pulaski's strength this year is definitely their offensive line, they should be able to run the ball effectively against almost anyone and they have one of if not the best young running backs in the state. With that being said I still think Beechwood is a 2 TD favorite over Pulaski and if they get behind early and lose focus it could be a bad day for the Maroons. My prediction but subject to change as the week goes lol 28-10 Beechwood.

Beechwood wins a battle.

Beechwood goes undefeated all the way to Kroger field

I look for Pulaski to be improved but not enough to beat Beechwood. I think Beechwood will win by 2-3 scores.

Would like to go to this one. I think Beechwood wins relatively easily but I'm hearing good things from the Pulaski camp. Think Burns will have them back on top of the County soon.

Going with Beechwood -- although I believe Pulaski is on the rise I'm not sure that they are there just yet. This would be an interesting game to watch later in the season after they've had a few games under their belt to allow Burns to tweak and adjust as needed.

Agreed. I think both teams can learn a lot from this game. I hate to miss it.

Pulaski is not even close to having the best  young running back in the state.

I thought you only got 3 timeouts in a half. Bell County did the same thing to tie the score in the 3rd quarter before PC did but agree with your post. Both teams will get better because of that scrimmage.

You are correct, you are missing the point. Point is they used every timeout they had to try and add an extra score. Yes Bell county had a reason to as they were down at the time. Just didn’t see the reasoning behind doing it to add an extra score when you already “won” the scrimmage. But yes we can agree on something, as I said scrimmage was near even the whole game from what I saw and both will get much better as season progresses.

He may not be but I'll at least post the reasoning behind my opinion then if you feel like it you can inform me who I need to watch who is better, I don't really like to argue just like to watch football and good players.
As a freshman last year he rushed for over 1400 yards on a primarily pass happy offense, in the game against Corbin ( who many including myself considered them one of the best defensive teams in the state) he was well on his way to over 100 yards rushing until a nasty hit at the goal line put him out of the game (concussion protocol). I'm not sure the numbers but he was also one of the top pass catchers on the team coming out of the backfield.
There may be better and if so I'll definitely give them their due.

I remember that now. I also remember that Coach Hines was smart in watching game film and exposing Corbin's middle of the defense that was left wide open in most the early games.

Beechwood in a beatdown. Pulaski struggles through another season and loses twice to SW.
