So, if we win, we will have to beat A&M twice in order to advance ?

Yes

Hard to win 3 in a row but not impossible. They did it last year to get out of the regionals. Let's hope history can repeat itself in that! Go Cats!!!!!!!!!!

One thing about getting back to A & M is their best offensive player is already out, and there’s a real chance LaViolette, their best offensive player remaining, might not be back, a hamstring injury like it looked like he suffered last night isn’t healing quickly. On the down side, their hitters take a ton of pitches, so the pitch count for whoever we have left is gonna go up in a hurry, we may be throwing guys who haven’t thrown many meanigful innings at all this year. It’s all moot if we don’t get by Florida tonight of course. On paper, we should be favored, but our offense has got to get back on track to have a chance at a real run.

Cats gotta be in survival mode form here on out. Whatever it takes to survive and advance. And with the way this bunch has played all year I expect them to come with that mentality. Backs against the wall but fight to the last out.

Game has been moved to Wednesday at 11 am due to incoming storms. If they win they will still play at 7 Wednesday evening

Going to be an uphill climb, if we can beat Florida, have to beat A&M twice. It can happen but it sure will be tough.

Just have to get the bats going more than anything else.

If we can win today I feel we can carry that momentum to the next game today. We make it to tomorrow and you never know. Cats need a good offensive showing today. I feel we gonna have to score a lot of runs. Good thing is Florida isn't set up on pitching. We still have Niman who is capable of having a good outing. He has struggled last few outings though but very capable. After that we will be relying heavy on the bullpen. We make it to tomorrow and Pooser will be available I would think.

Nick Lopez gets a huge 2 out hit in the top of the first to put the Cats up 1-0. Lopez was hitting only .110 in the MCWS before that hit.

One across early. Things are off to a good start.

Niman has been run out of the game in the bottom of the first after only being able to get 1 out and gave up 3 runs and the Gators have runners on first and second with one out and O'Brien is into the game.
#12
Well that went downhill in a hurry, after getting 1 run in the top, fell apart pretty quickly.

Niman got the hook after giving up 3 runs, O'brien comes in for relief, Florida loads the bases and hits a grand slam. Florida up 7-1 going into 2nd inning, not good for Kentucky.
#13
Then Kentucky goes 1-2-3 down in top of the 2nd. Liable to be a long game.
#14
Still 7-1 Gators headed to the 3rd inning. Cats need to start chipping away.
#15
Pitre w/ a 2 run homer in the top of the 5th to cut the lead to 9-4.
#16
Florida now in complete control at 14-4 after 5 innings
#17
15-4 now after a solo homer from Jac Caglianone, he is a heck of a player.
#18
Florida 15 Kentucky 4
Final.

Sadly, the dream season comes to an end, but I guess if it's going to end anywhere, Omaha would be the place for it to end.

Things looked positive (at first) getting a run, but it all started to fall apart when Lopez stumbled trying to steal 2nd, then in the bottom half of the 1st the brakes completely fell off. The foul ball Nicholson misread was tough, then Niman getting the hook after giving up 3, then the grand slam, it was pretty much over after that. Pitre had a little spark in the 5th w/ the 2 run homer, but Florida came right back and scored 5 in the bottom half.

Tough tough way for the season to end, but it sure was a joy to watch this team all year make history and get to the CWS.

Some highlights from the Kentucky magical season. 46-16 tied for first in the SEC regular season at 22-8 and won their first ever Super Regional and making the first ever MCWS and winning a game in the World Series. Congrats to SEC Coach of the year Nick Mingione and the team! Looking forward to the 2025 Bat Cats! Go Big Blue!!

Better to lose 15 to 4 and know you got beat then lose 5-4 and play the what if game. Great season.
