Opinions? Pikeville is the favorite and has been all season. Prestonsburg hottest team in region you could say. Pikeville will start Thompson and I guess Hall for Pburg. Who will they turn to if a change is needed. I don’t see why Pburg didn’t take Welch out when they got the big lead to have him for Thursday. And for all the folks who complain about basketball region tournament at Pikeville saying Pikeville has an advantage does Pburg have the advantage playing on their home turf? Haven’t seen much complaints about that like you hear in basketball

Pikeville wins this one, Welch pitching or not.

All of the pressure is on Pikeville! The Blackcats are playing on "house money", due to no one outside of P-Burg, thinking they could be in the position of playing for a regional championship. Prestonsburg is playing loose, having fun, and they are a confident baseball team. Our pitching has been on point and everyone seems to be swinging the bats well at the right time. Pikeville may be the favorite, but it's hard to beat a good team three times in one year! Bring it home, boys! Hail Blackcats!

Prestonsburg gave Pikeville all they wanted last game and nearly won.. I think they'd have a chance if the bats continue to show up

If you talk to anyone around the Pikeville program they will tell you the one team that worried them the most was Prestonsburg. From a starting pitching perspective, Prestonsburg is about the only team in the region that can match their top 3. Hitting is the one spot Prestonsburg struggled with at times but the bats are showing up in the postseason. I expect a close matchup.

The Hall kid that’ll be pitching tomorrow for Pburg has more walked batters than strikeouts so with Pikeville with a team full of experienced batters, they’ll make the kid pitch them strikes. But anything can happen especially on Pburgs home field and they get to have their home dugout. They’ll be fired up and playing all out.

Still, I love Pikeville's chances tomorrow although anything can happen...
15th shaping up to be VERY competitive.
1. Pikeville has 3 excellent starting pitchers and is solid everywhere and will be very hard to beat. BUT
2-4 JC and Lawrence are excellent squads who can beat anyone on a given night and nobody wants Prestonsburg who lost at Pikeville by 1 and Boyd Co. by 2 recently while mercy-ing 2A champ Powell and beating Breathitt. They have played a VERY tough schedule. LOOK OUT.
5-8 Paintsville is dangerous. Belfry is playing better and have a few tough losses but have a couple pitchers capable of beating anyone. Floyd Central threw a 2-hit shutout to beat Belfry recently and Shelby Valley just beat Harlan Co. and Belfry.
15th regional tourney should be a lot of fun and wouldn't be surprised to see an upset or two. Pikeville better bring their A game and even that is no guarantee...
