Now below is the first candidates a serious coaching search is underway. I have put some in Red. For me, I want a offensive minded coach, so those like a Justin Haddix is no doubt my number 1 candidate for me. My other top Choices is Frederick Douglass Coach Mcpeek, I do think he is worthy and I like him.  Cay Clevenger is also a dandy and proven, just look at Danville and what he did and will do at Somerset. I also like Keegan Kendrick because of how quick he was able to turn Bullitt East into a Championship Team. These are my top hires for me. Now some like Pikeville's coach, I don't see him leaving nor a Phillip Haywood nor a Dudley Hiltion, but on a joking manner could you imagine Dudley in Red at Corbin.  I respect Dudley and what he has done. But I think any program that takes a chance and makes a offer is no doubt doing what a good program should be doing. If you don't try, then you just don't know.

In 6A I would go after Bullitt East Keegan Kendrick. He should be also on every teams radar for what he was able to do in his first year at Bullitt East. He won Class 6A over Male last season. He is also the Offensive Coordinator and a good one. 

Also I would try to steal Frederick Douglass Mr. Mcpeek. He is a dandy. 

Others I don't know what they would travel south..

I always look at this list and see the new names or teams that have made it to the finals. The one thing that stands out is not many names ever make it to this list of Champions and Runner ups. But usually if they do make it, then they seem to find theire way back. Thats why I think if you are building a championship program, you have to take a long hard look at these coaches.

My thoughts are, what coach with any moral scruples ,whatsoever, would leave a school a few weeks before football is ready to begin to take another job. Tommy Greer is one who would but he's an a$$whole of epic proportions.

I love Clay Clevenger and Nathan McPeek. I would take either in a heartbeat but I don't see them screwing over the kids they are currently coaching to come to Corbin and be bossed around by David Cox and a bunch of old has beens who still watch Lawrence Welk reruns on Saturday night while thumbing through old Corbin yearbooks from the '50's, '60's, and '70s .

Got that right.  Both very impressive. Highest quality coaches, both of them. Those are the two who would top my list , minus Haddix.

To me there are hidden gems in Kentucky but getting one may be a different story. Here is one any program should be thinking about. He knows offense.

Zach Lewis...

Zach Lewis, who holds numerous offensive records at Morehead State, is in his fifth year on the MSU staff and his fourth as an assistant coach. Lewis coaches the quarterbacks and serves as the program's recruiting coordinator.

Lewis served as a student assistant in 2013 after concluding his four-year MSU career in 2012. He coached the slot receivers in 2014.

Lewis helped guide Austin Gahafer to unprecedented stats and the 2015 PFL Offensive Player of the Year honor. Gahafer finished as the all-time leading passer in the PFL and at MSU, surpassing Lewis' previous records.

During his senior season, Lewis established school career records for completions (936), passing attempts (1,499), passing yards (10,251), passing touchdowns (72), offensive plays (1,710) and total yards (10,164). Following the year, he participated in the Football Championship Subdivision Senior Scout Bowl.

As a junior in 2011, he set Morehead State single-season records for completions (324), attempts (513) and passing yards (3,585), and became the first MSU quarterback to throw for more than 3,000 yards.

Lewis owns the Pioneer Football League career record for passing attempts and holds the season record for passing yards per game (325.9 in 2011). He ranks second in career passing yards and is just of three quarterbacks in the history of the league to throw for more than 10,000 yards.

A Manchester native, Lewis set Kentucky High School Athletic Association records with 13,642 passing yards and 1,508 passing attempts at Clay County High School. At the time of his graduation, he ranked second in KHSAA history with 912 completions. He also threw 105 touchdowns passes.
