I agree with you MrBaseball2. Valley will sweep Pikeville in every game they play next season, just like they did last season. But what does Valley have to do with a thread about Pikeville?

Me neither Ducky! They haven't had a winning season in a while though, so it may be a smart schedule even though it's not real strong!!

Thanks B-ballonlyfan..!!

I found out tonight that we are also playing Jenkins, and in the WYMT tourney... dont know the dates on those games though.

yea but isn't it better to schedule hard teams for younger players to get experience where they can build up for remaining seasons

The younger players need to experience winning before they experience a really tough schedule. Pikeville hasn't had a winning season since 2000-2001 according to the KHSAA website. I think Pikeville's young kids need a few wins for their confidence. Actually, the schedule doesn't look all that easy. They will get some really good tests against Paintsville, SV (twice), ER (twice), WYMT Classic (loaded), Ashland Paul Blazer, Mountain Schoolboy @ Belfry, Portsmouth Clay, and the All A Region. That is more than 2/3 of their games and none of them are cupcakes. I think the schedule is challenging but has the possibility of giving the Panthers their first winning season in quite a while!

The Adams kid is where they will take him one one else wants a project.

What does that mean? Why are you so worried about Pikeville ERblue? Afraid of getting swept again next season? Maybe you should worry more about your school and your grammer and spelling instead of a different school's players.

Really?? I would think that a project that is 6'9" and just a sophomore would be a welcomed site anywhere in the 15th region since this region is primarily known as a region for undersized centers! 6'9" centers from the 15th usually lead their schools to the big house before their careers end (see Todd May, Jimmy Turner, Dan Hall, JR Vanhoose, ). Maybe big Deven can do the same if he continues to improve. Let's hope so!!
#20
The "project" as you like to call it surprised a few people during the summer league. The part I like about Pikeville is I know that Bart, Todd, Lee and from what I have talked to Denny Paul is that it doesnt matter how much he improves, he will always be a project. They wont let him settle for anything less than improving every day like coaches should do with players.

I would think that with someone like Todd May working with him the SKY'S THE LIMIT!!!

Big Deven will have a lot of people watching him after all the talk there has been about him on this site. We'll see if he can live up to it when the season starts...

What has been said besides he can't run up and down the floor. He has no coordination. Couldnt start for middle school teams in this area. A long way to go before he could even be considered "good". No reason to waste good money on a ticket to watch...

Funny, I hadn't read anything like that in this thread until you just wrote it. As a matter of fact BBonlyfan, you were sort of taking up for Deven in an earlier post. I'd say he'll be fine and more concerned with what his coaches have to say rather than what folks on here have to say.
#26
I'm not putting the kid down because I think he will eventually make a nice player. I'm just saying that he has been the subject of alot of discussion over the summer...

All that was said in other threads... just recycling what has already been posted...

Since I have a pretty good idea who you are. I'm assuming that this is your attempt at sarcasm.
