Yellowjackets have a good team. They have a QB and WR who will be 2 of the better athletes on the field. However, it isn’t enough. They played a very weak schedule. Pikeville will represent their toughest game by far all season and something they can’t simulate in practice. The jacket defense is suspect. Boro may score 2-3 times and that is a tall task against the Panther D. But if Middlesboro gave up 50 to Shelby Valley, and after watching a few of their games, their defense isn’t stopping Pikeville consistently. Pikeville 48-21

This will be a slaughtering. Middlesboro gets beat up front by much worse teams than this. They have 4-5 athletes but Pikeville might have one of the best Olines in EKY. They will run for 350 plus and maybe throw for 150 more.

I think Middlesboro is better than Pikeville folks realize. They have a good quarterback, very good WR in Wilson, and the team has good speed and is well coached.

Hard to know how good they are with their schedule full of cupcakes. Beat one team with a winning record (Wburg) and Pikeville put 36 points on them in about an 11 minute span Friday. They gave up 518 yards and 50 points to Shelby Valley. I don’t doubt they can make some plays but Pikeville running game will have their way all night…

They are showing up for the same reason everyone else shows up lol. No reason to think Pikeville team won't take care of business. Both district games and first 2 playoff games were very quick running clocks and zero yards allowed by 1st team D. Yes Middlesboro is better but silly to hope for Pikeville to not be ready, they will be...

I don't know any of the Pikeville coaches or players, but I don't think readiness will be a problem. When competition steps up good teams & players start getting excited and more focused. As for that championship game against Russellville, Pikeville wasn't overconfident - Russellville was a very talented and confident group of young men. Most people (common fans) just dismissed them like they do many teams every year.

Middlesboro is a quality team with a few standout athletes, but I'll be surprised if Pikeville doesn't control this game and win handedly (4TDs +).
