They do practice 2 minute drill as well, the results were because of the decision making by the quarterback. There were plays to be made but the qb struggled to make the throws. One INT was on him for not making an easy throw on a screen which resulted in the pick six. The other was due to a pulling lineman not getting a block, that resulted in an early throw and to the leading receiver on the team so I get what he was doing. He trusted the freshman to make a play but it was Holbrook who made the pick for Boyd.
As for the scoreboard for NFHS, the guy who broadcasts doesn’t use a computer so he doesn’t update the scoreboard, he only broadcasts the game.
Even with the QB decisions, the play before the interception, they threw a deeper pass that could’ve easily went the other way. Then, it looked like they were running a tunnel screen on the pick 6. So, they chose to throw a short pass in which the player couldn’t get out of bounds to stop the clock. If you’re running that anyway, why not just run the ball? They were moving the ball well running it. Seems like they opted for the risk associated with passing the ball (which they aren’t very good at) without much payoff if it were successful. I’m not sure how you can put that on the QB. I just do not understand how the plays match up with a rehearsed 2 minute drill. It just looked like they weren’t ready for the situation. If they don’t get that figured out, forget worrying about the second round, they may lose at home in the first round of playoffs.

They did throw a screen and it was there, the blocking was there. All that had to take place was a good throw but instead it was high, even for a tall receiver such as Ratliff and it went past him and hit the back of a player and popped up in the air into the arms of Hicks who took it back for a pick six. It was 100% on the quarterback. The right play call was there and he did not execute, plain and simple. People can try and blame it on coaches all they want but everything was in place for a big play and it did not happen.

I don’t think even if he threw a perfect pass that it would’ve resulted in a bigger play than they were getting running the ball, but maybe so. I was just saying that if you know you struggle in the passing game, there are better play calls than a short pass that isn’t even going to stop the clock.

LC grad,
You’re right about the throw being high and Boyd’s DB making a great play, but if you watch you’ll see everyone whiffed on their blocks and the WR was likely gonna get clocked.
And they had just come off a sequence where they were ripping off chunks of yards on the ground.
Ah well… live to play another day.

Pollock has a big heart but he has made a few mistakes, qb scrambles resulted in fumbles, passes overthrown, problems with playing under pressure!! When he was hurt, the first game the other qb had some good passing games, can't wait to see him get mature!!

Crum and McDavid have been making big plays in the second half, why not just feed them the ball and take the chance on the clock??
Lc have been wasting alot of timeouts before the end of the 4th quarter!!! "Where they count most in a game"
They don't really have a set kicker, haven't seen them really kick nothing but squib kicks and onside kicks
I'll support the Dawgs thru thick and thin, like I have in the past of us having not so good of seasons. I'm just a fan that would love to see LC get there shtt together and win a championship!!!
With that being said, I try and speak realistically. I know our team is there this year, possibly the next year either. Do they have a cance? Yes
Shall they take it? We will see!!!

I have watched the film several times. LC had two lineman coming out to block and there was one guy and it was #26 Hendricks and he was even turned so if the throw is there and accurate then Ratliff ends with a big game. I'm not blaming Talan, just calling it for what it is, it was a bad throw and Talan would be the first to admit that.

He would. He’s a mature kid and we could parse it all day, but without him we’re worse offensively and defensively for certain.
But the screen on that was completely missed. Go back and look one more time. 3 defenders converging on Ratliff off of missed blocks.
Of course, I also despise slow developing plays like that. ?
Hope our secondary is ready. Mason tosses it all over the field.

So y'all think we ought to go back to running 32 trap on 3rd and 9?

I don’t think anyone said that. I just think it would be a good idea to learn to run the offense that you want to have effectively. You can’t just come up with a collection of plays and pick them at random then call it your new offense. Well, you can, but it results in losing games you should be able to win. It looks great against the bad teams, but you’re easily exposed when you play someone with a pulse.

Maybe if we didn’t throw a medium pass on 1st and 10 and a WR flat on 2nd and 10 for a 1 yd gain, we wouldn’t be in 3rd and 9? ??♂️
I would like to see 15 to 20 well advised pass plays from a menu of some variety instead of what’s situationally very predictable and perhaps some sort of goal line power set that has a more certain C to QB exchange than a pistol formation. Ya know, maybe some conventional power football. ?
But in seriousness, I am pretty much ok with how good the Bulldogs are at this point. Only Valley was a disappointment to me and and we have fought really hard every game.

Valley game was not a good effort.
