15th Regional Tournament Sites

Do you think the East Kentucky Expo Center is a great place to have both girls and boys regional tournaments? Why?

it is a great facility to have it at...the only thing that i have a complaint with is how some of the fan sections were stuck in the upper deck which was not the fault of the Expo but was the fault of the schools...I think it would have been alot better to have the pep sections in the end zones like we normaly have them at places like Pike Central...ER and Belfry...but that is the only complaint i had with it...

ya know, I still like the school gym's, it just seems to ad more to the game to me.

I think it shoukd be like at the state tournament. Fans in the end zones and the band stuck up in the upper arena . The high school gyms aren't big enough anymore to host our regonal tournaments, that the reason that they have spilt sessions some seasons. The only thing I found wrong was the prices at the concessions. But I was told that problem would be corrected this season. Good luck to all teams see you in March.

I can't believe I am saying this but.........I totally agree with you on this one ERBlue4ever. Fans in the end zones would be great and prices were a bit steep for HS games. However, the regional tourney should be held at the Expo Center forever and ever! Unbelievable atmosphere and fun to watch games from in there!!

I think it is more exciting if it is at a schools gymnasium, because like 15slamabama said some of the fans were just put in the top section of the expo center and that had to make some ppl mad to cheer that far away from the action. BUth when it is at a school, the fans are placed were they outgh to be placed, and that is not the main top of the gym

No matter where you have it, some people will have to sit higher. I agree that it shouldn't be students but they will hopefully fix that problem before next year. The upper section at the EXPO are still great seats. The upper levels at HS gyms are very hot and very crowded. Let's keep it at the EXPO forever!!

I think its a great place to have it ! It's more spread out and more people can attend the tourny and sit down instead of having to stand up the whole time b/c they cannot find a seat !

I like ERblues idea of the band in the upper level i kinda thought about that when i was at the tournament...one problem with that is that where the Expo is so big the sound kinda gets lost when your chanting that is why i said in the lower arena such as where Pikeville sat it was a perfect place...And the consession stands were outrageious but thats what you get for having it a a bigger venu

I think that it should be at the high school gyms. There are several large gyms in the area. There is nothing like playing in a packed gym that is standing room only. I think the Expo center takes the fans out of the game. They would not let anyone on the floor when JC won the boys and MC won the girls. Just the teams, they had it roped off. This is high school, it is not the state championship, we are not at Rupp (yet) let us celebrate with our teams.

Evil Twin, I agree they should let the fans on the floor to celebrate with their teams, but it needs to stay at the Expo Center. I'm sure they will work out the kinks . This was the first year it will get better. Everybody had a good seat and the atmosphere prepares our teams for the state tournament.
