Not sure if it matters in this one, but Chirico does have experience coaching against Belfry’s base offensive scheme from his days at P-Burg.

Definitely a better test this week with GRC, and a tough 4 game stretch coming up for the Pirates before they enter district play. Eager to see how these young DB’s match up with with the skill positions of GRC. Now that Belfry has a few more facets to their offensive look I expect things to open up a little bit more. Give me the Pirates 35-21

Belfry by several scores GRC isn't a very good football team this year
#15
Caden Woolum is a problem lined up in the slot.

6'3 with blazing speed and a safety looking heavy as their first instinct in the backfield.... all I can say is you better hope he doesn't get a step.

If Belfry can add a quick bubble screen and something to make you to honor the TE in the passing game, then watch out. Chase Varney is a superstar in the making at QB.

I’ll be real surprised if this isn’t a running clock game honestly. I just don’t see GRC matching Belfry’s physicality.

You’ll be in for a surprise.  Belfry isn’t you’re typical physical Pirate team and GRC plays in a tough district.  This will be a test, at the very least.

it’s not the easy W some people assume it to be.

I love how Belfry fans wants to act like they are open to opening the offense, but when the games on the line they’re going to go to double tight flex bone and still just run the ball. Let’s be honest if they wanted to mix in run and pass then they would’ve dominated this game, but once GRC realized that passing wasn’t really an option that Belfry didn’t have any desire to commit to the pass and they could just commit to stopping the run then Belfry was behind the 8 ball…… same story different season on Pond Creek. It’s pretty simple when you’ve got an entire D1 OL but when you need to morph to your roster and strengths then Belfry seems to fall short.
But hey it’s early in the season, so maybe they’ll figure it out…..I feel like they’ve got the talent but the coaches need to mold to the kids. But I highly doubt that’s ever going to happen.

I agree with some of what you said. GRC is putting 9 guys in the box and has no worry or concern of the idea a pass is coming. When you get down 2 scores 3 and 4 yards a carry won’t cut it. Definitely didn’t see much of the 4 wide sets. How many plays did they run with that with Woolum in the slot? Not much if any. I’m not sure Belfry has 50 yards of offense in the 2nd half. Plus this was a real chance to get some major rpi points with a 6a school

Belfry defense much worse than the offense. 46-27 GRC late in the 4th. Holy f@ckamoly
